ALEXIS' POV
The morning after I stole a kiss from Lyra, I was still fantasizing about how sweet she tasted. I simply couldn't get over it. I know what I did was cowardly, but I didn't want to risk her laughing it off as if it were some drunken mistake.
The whole time she was talking about my mother and me opening my heart to another woman as if that was something I had any control over. I was staring at her lips until I couldn't take it anymore.
I kissed her, even though it was only on the lips. That was enough to tide me over until I could see her again.
