My hackles raised as Indigo, and I realized that the same wolves from earlier this morning were here. Would they try anything in public? Surely not, I wondered. It’s okay, Kat, I think they are just shocked to see us. I don’t think they will start anything, Indigo reassured me. “Move out of the way,” Sandy grumbled as she approached the front counter. “How are my favorite boys today? Go sit down, and Kat will be out shortly to take your orders,” she said with a smile on her face and a pleasant tone in her voice. “Thanks, Sandy,” a few of them said simultaneously. I stood there, gobsmacked. I couldn’t believe how quickly her mood had changed. Was it just me who elicited this response from her? I wondered to myself. I didn’t get time to ponder my thoughts as she threw an apron at me. “
