Once in the restroom, I take my time. Clean myself up, reapply my lipstick, check my phone—no messages. No big deal. Once I come out, Jack is gone. I wander the main floor and swipe a small plate of shrimp and red sauce off a tray. It’s gotta be better than the crackers with the curly green stuff on top. It doesn’t take long to realize Jack’s not here. Has he left me?
