“Did you see his face? Did you actually see his face?” It’s hours later, and I’m sprawled out on the couch snuggling with Bear. Jack’s gone to bed, but he’s left the door open since Bear keeps pacing between his room and my couch. We’ve been talking back and forth. Well, mostly it’s been me talking while Jack throws in some half-hearted grunts that tells me he’s still awake. I’m too jacked up to sleep. My heart is still racing as I relive the final game, and the fact that I’ve just brought home one of the biggest prizes I’ve ever won. I fold my hands behind my head and stare up at the ceiling.
