Mommy and Daddy

—Michael's POV—

I was shocked and happy when she decided to adopt him. Yeah, I know, I know I almost confessed. This kid has some magic in him. Also, his face looks familiar. She was sitting beside me, carrying Adrian. There was a slight smile.

She is finally moving on. And I can see a ray of hope.

Well, yeah a ray of hope. If I don’t ever mess it up saying to her, I love her.

•••Natasha’s POV•••

I don’t know what is going to happen next, how my parents are gonna react. Well, the present problem is while we were at the hospital we used donated breast milk. Now, I need Kristin’s help.

But for today we got some donated milk for the baby.

We dropped Kristin outside his hospital and went home.

I told Michael that we should clear the spare room. Adrian was sleeping, as usual.

We cleared the room. I did order a stroller while I was in the car. I told them it is an emergency, I need that stroller within an hour, they were convinced. So, yeah we probably can go shopping after clearing stuff.

The bell rang.

“Oh! must be the stroller,” I said.

“I'll get it,” Michael said.

“No, it is okay, I am going, ”I said and opened the door. It was the stroller. I was paying for it when I can hear Adrian's cry. I paid him locked the door. And rushed to him.

I can already see Michael struggling with Adrian's diaper. Maybe Adrian pooped.

“That is great Adrian, green poops, you are a fit young man, ”I said. Now I have to clean him and changed his diaper.

“You are perfect mommy for him,” Michael said,“ I think we should head out for shopping.”

“Kristin did buy some clothes for him, but we need more. Then also we have a lotta paper works to do. So, let's hurry,” I was so excited.

Michael wanted to push the stroller. Fine, he may. But I was disguising myself under a mask and a cap. You know don't want to be news. I was ready to be a mother but not ready to share with the world. My office knew, but I also told them the fact, so they are not gonna be the leak.

But now we need everything, from a little pacifier to a big crib. Some bottles for feeding, clothes, shoes, diapers, etc etc.

We went to a shop for newborns. We will get everything we want. We mean me and Adrian. Michael was pushing the stroller beside me but when we stopped at any store he starts flirting with any girl.

“Mike, for Christ's sake can't you stand at one place? While I am choosing stuff take care of Adrian. That is the reason you are here, ”I said angrily.

“I thought I bring one kid with me now it's two!”

“You have to approve,” He said.

9“Approve what?” I asked. “ If she is qualified for me or not?” He said.

“You are not certified for her,” I said and smiled wickedly Now, which one?” I asked Michael but don't know where he was looking at.

“The black skirt one, ”He answered.

“Not the girls! I am talking about there,” I showed him the onesies. One said 'Momma's New Man' and the other has a Mjolnir on it and says, 'I am worthy, but you are not.'

“Both, I guess,” Michael replied.

In total, we bought seven onesies, nine jumpsuits, eight undershirts, seven one-piece pyjamas, four pairs of shoes, bottles, diapers, napkins, pacifiers, soft towels, burp cloths, baby hairbrush, crib, infant carrier, changing table and car seat etc.

It was lunchtime and I was hungry, maybe Michael's too. Though we took a day off, we already received so many calls, from our teammates, to help them.

So, we hurriedly went to the cash counter to pay.

The lady at the cash counter, who is more than forty saw Adrian and said,“ Isn’t it lovely! The baby has come shopping with mommy and daddy.”

“Ahm, no we are not couples,” Michael answered before I responded.

“No, umm, he is just a friend of mine, I am a single mom by the way, ”I blurted out something. You know, I barely know what I said.

“Oh! I am so sorry, dear! I mean no one could tell a difference,” She said. Well, she has a lot of interest.

“No, it is okay,” we both said but I think I heard Michael saying something else also- “Sometimes me neither”

However, my cheeks are now burning red. After we pay, we went to a restaurant which was obviously inside the mall.

I gave Adrian his bottle. He woke up while we were coming up.

Michael ordered and then he got a call. So, he went outside. After Adrian's little tummy was full, he did a baby noise. He didn’t fall asleep.

Michael came inside and said with a sad face,“ They are sending me to cover Olympics.”

“That is great!” I said and asked,“ So why the long face?”

“ I wanted to be here for you. I really wanted to,” he said.

“ You don’t have to. I can do it all by myself,” I said.

“ Also going to miss this cute man, here,” he said.

We talked and eat our lunch. Most of the topic was we need to talk to a lawyer and then apply for adoption. Now, he wants all of it done by today. He also told me not to be upset if my parents don’t like my decision.

After lunch, we went home. Set up all things and arranged everything.

We called Michael's family friend come lawyer. He assures us to help us.

In the evening Kristin called.

“Hey, Krist. You know I was thinking of calling you,” I said.

“Oh! Why?” Kristin said.

“You know Adrian, donated milk,” I said.

“Oh. Umm, how about formula, I know he is not over six months,” she said.

“Yeah, I know. And I am not going to do anything bad for him.” I said.

I paused.

“ I think I know what you are implying to. But lactation would take a month and more. I'll prescribe you a med. Till then you can use the formula for him,” she explained.

“ Okay, it will do,” I agreed with her.

“ Oh, I called you because it is our engagement,” she said.

“But you guys are-" she stopped me in middle.

“ Yeah, that was unofficial. Just a couple of people knows. So, I need your help.” she said.

“ Don't worry. I know you need help with shopping and arranging,” I said.

“By the way- Nat- Steve and him were besties. After all of that happened he cut off the relation but Steve's dad and his dad are businesses partner so-"

“He is going to join the party.” We both said at the same time.

“ Don't worry! I am not the same anymore. The old me died back then. Now I have discovered a new reason to live.” Natasha said as she looked at Adrian.

“ Bring Michael with you. I called him he said he is going to cover the Olympics this year,” she said.

“Yes, he may not be able to join us," I said

“ No, it is on October 29th. He should be back by then and you might also get the Mommy licence by then." Kristin said.

“ Then it is alright! This is going to be fun." I said.

“ Okay girl, have a good night, bye!"

“ Okay bye!" I ended the call.

I thought my past will stay in the past. But I am wrong.
