When Jaxon was speaking about guards, he never meant two or three, but a dozen of them.
They were stationed around the house, and Ruby began to doubt if she would be able to leave.
After dressing up, she walked to the door. She just had to leave, one way or the other.
“You're not allowed to leave, miss. On the boss's orders,” The guard standing on the door stopped her, his voice thick with a Russian accent.
“It's important” Ruby tried to keep a straight face.
The man in front of her was very scared; she doubted if he would bulge and allow her to leave; she just had to try.
“You're not allowed to leave until the boss returns.” His voice was stern, and Ruby bit her lips hard, thinking of an excuse.
“It's my time of the month,” She began, and the man's eyes narrowed.
