Warm sunlight filtered through the bedroom window and Jaxon found himself enjoying it. The view was nice and there was no noise from traffic since it was still quite early.
It was just past seven but he was fully dressed and would head to work in a bit. He wasn't like some people who whiled away their time by lying in bed. He lived strictly by the motto that the early bed gets the worm.
He was still looking out the window when he heard the door slam and the soft pad of footsteps approached him.
He turned around to reprimand Ruby for entering without knocking but all thoughts left his head at the sight of her. He felt his throat close up and he couldn't get any words out. He was thankful he still had the self control to not gape at her.
