Lara "Evan, this isn't what you think. She didn't..." I cleaned my tears with my hands but winced in pain, shifting backwards as I raised my hand up to my head. "What's wrong with you?" Evan rushed to me, anxiety welled up in his face as he cupped my face into his arms. More tears dropped as I looked towards Helen — her face twisted with anger. "I didn't know what to do. Don't listen to her, don't listen to this—" she stepped forward but Evan raised his hands against her. "You are still trying to hurt her in my presence, do you feel remorseful one bit?" His voice rang high leaving her startled and shocked. Helen fell backwards, struggling to get a grip as her mouth trembled. Never did she think the man she schemed with would treat her like this. "You're shouting at me?" She screamed, her voice shocked. The shock of discovery hit her with full force. "Not now, Helen. Get out please," Evan said as I leaned into his arms smiling at her twisted face. Her eyes lit up in anger, giving me a hostile glare as she walked out slowly. Evan kept his gaze straight on her as I smiled, waving her goodbye, leaving her more annoyed. Evan turned to me and I immediately changed my expression, looking at him with a beam of sadness in my eyes. "I'm sorry. I—" he aced a hand on my lips. Hushing me as he helped me up the bed. "Why did you even get up in the first place," he said with a gentle voice, covering me with the duvet. Making sure it was tucked in at each corner. "You should take care of your health. You know you're weak," He smiled, as I nodded. Lowering my head slowly, my face looking listless. If the file wasn't here, then wher3 could it be? It was only a matter of time before he came to transfer me to my old room. I moved inconsistently, falling into his arms with each movement. "Is.. Is she gone?" I raised a brow in fear, just miles away from my room. He paused as he stared at me blankly for a while. "Yes." He smiled, as he led me in buy I could easily tell that a lie. There was no way he would actually beat that. Though the journey to his room wasn't as fruitful as I thought, I could still get something done. ** The door knob twisted, shaking violently as someone tried to break in. I tried turning away from the sound but it came sharply again this time a bang in the door like they were trying to break in. I raised my head above the duvet as I stared at the door knob which twisted violently. I looked at it blankly, unsure whether to scream for help or seep back into my bed and watch what they had to do. I rested my hands on the sheets about to rise up but I slipped falling back into my bed. I stared at the door blankly, it was banging recklessly as I closed my eyes pretending to be asleep. The door banged open as the footsteps approached. It grew closer as I held the sheets below the duvet ready to attack when it went in the other direction. "I can't even understand what he is thinking, He already has the enterprise in his hands. Why does he want some stupid inheritance papers," hee emotions seemed out of control, as she pulled open the cupboard. I sharply turned towards her, opening my eyes slowly to watch her movements. Pushing through the clothes, she opened a compartment bringing out a safe. The safe I could recognize from anywhere. She stared at it in bewilderment as she said "If only she had her memory back," she turned back with those words and I sharply closed my eyes. The box was placed on the table while some rules were made before the cupboard finally shut close. She picked up the box, before she walked closer to me. "When I get this thing unlocked, you're out." She scoffed walking out as she banged the door behind. What a reckless behavior for someone who expected me to be asleep. I stared at the cupboard blankly. Holding tighter on to the sheet, as my hands fisted into tight balls. So he wasn't satisfied with my wealth, and wanted my grandparent's with it. What a crazy person he was. A gentle knock came on the door, shaking me out of my sleep as I opened my eyes slowly to see Evan standing at the doorstep. "You are just waking up?" His voice held a glint of disappointment as he walked closer, I sat up in the bed as I stared at him blankly in confusion. "How are we supposed to go to the appointment? Or you want Helen to take you there?" I shook my head negatively. Leaning backwards as I lowered my head, "No. I can't, didn't you see the way she treated me yesterday?" I asked, searching his eyes for a glint of remorse. His gaze looked restless but he sighed, placing his hands on my cheeks as he caressed my cheeks softly, "Okay. Then I will tell the driver to take you there, make sure not to wander off," He smiled as he got up to his feet. I smiled at him sweetly while he adjusted his jacket looking down at me as he said "I will be expecting you at home." With those words he walked out as my smile dropped immediately. He was really leaving me with no escape. And since he was, I would also do the same for him. I smiled manically staring at the wall before me.
