Irene’s POV I was back in my room, lying on my bed, staring at the ceiling. The picnic kept replaying in my head no matter how hard I tried to stop it. The garden, the big tree. The way Elvis looked at me like I mattered. I rolled onto my side and pulled the pillow closer. Stop, I told myself. Before I could sink deeper into my thoughts, the door burst open. “I heard what happened!” Zara rushed in, eyes wide, excitement written all over her face.
