CHAPTER TEN Bo screeched out of Forest Park like a race car driver. All the while, my front door spider beamed live images of my porch to my mind’s eye. The monochrome images of the man banging against the door, captured from a slightly different angle from each of my spider’s ten eyes, circled my vision like a carousel. My spider hadn’t moved. Now that it was in its fight-or-flight response, it wasn't going to move unless something threatened its life, and the truth was that the man standing on my porch wasn't a threat to it.
