Endy tried to distract himself with work and try not to think about certain goddess sleeping in a room upstairs. It didn't help that he kept feeling Romeo's eyes on the back of his head. Actually, he didn't even try to be sneaky about it. He was staring at him, trying to solve the mystery of his existence. His mind returned to the sleeping girl as he decided to ignore his new boss. He couldn't understand why did he feel such connection towards her. And that strange familiarity... Like he knew her in another life but how could he know a goddess? He eyed Romeo as he pretended to not stare at him, could he ask him more about her? He already thinks he's a weirdo. Endy didn't want to lose this job, not because he really needed it but because staying here meant he could be more around her from now on. Somehow he knew she was important but it wasn't logical. Ever since Elios took him in two thousand years ago the only sense of familiarity was with the old man. He considered him a father. His face was still clear in his memory after all these years. Sometimes in his dreams he could see color purple with silvery swirls, it felt like he was drowning in this magical color. Dreaming about it caused him pain and comfort so he didn't exactly like the dream but it was the only connection to his forgotten life. Elios thought that dream was sent by gods. At first, he didn't even know he was different from other humans. But as the time passed, he just didn't change and his father grew older and more frail. The old man had a strength about him that was difficult to ignore or not admire. His soul was always close to Endy's own. Although, he lost his son who went to war to fight for the gods and kings, he never lost faith or humanity. He was just family. The sleeping girl upstairs didn't feel like that. She felt like a second half. She was somehow crucial to him but he didn't know how. "Romeo, how can you tell you're a god?" Endy asked mather-of-factly trying to sound uninterested, "Is there some kind of test?" "Actually, there is one quite simple method. I cut you and if you bleed blue, you're a god. ", Romeo answered. "Well, I can't be cut with knives or anything else..." Endy responded remembering all the times he tried to cut himself. It wasn't that he was trying to hurt himself but once you know your skin is super tough you get kind of morbidly curious. Fire couldn't hurt him either. He always felt somewhat recharged after being near fire or intense sunshine. That's why he loved working in the field in old times. Now he took jobs in bars because it kept Elios in his memory fresh. He was afraid of forgetting him like he did everything else from his old life. He didn't know much about himself and after so many years it didn't really bother him. He knew that he was proficient in combat, possibly due to his military training, he knew he was almost indestructible, the only injury he ever had was the one that took away his memory and he knew he was immortal. "But, I remember that when I woke up in the forest I was covered in a blue liquid. My father Elios didn't know what it was...", his voice trailed off. Romeo was worried. The only deities unaccounted for were the Fates which Endy was not as he was a single being and not a woman. There were those two but surely it couldn't be... Or could it? No, that would be too f****d up. No, no, no. Romeo eyed Endy. He was staring in the distance lost in thoughts. The other two that were missing were Ares, Zeus's son born in fire like a forged weapon and Helios, the ancient sun god, even more powerful than Zeus himself. Somehow, it made sense that he was one of the two. And Romeo was the only person on earth that knew that. *** Selene woke up in a dark room. Golden rays of sunshine could be seen behind the thick burgundy drapes. It seemed like sun was past it's peak. How long was she out? After she was pulled back from the strangers mind she fell into sleepless dream. It was kinda nice actually. She couldn't remember when was the last time she could sleep this well without dreams. The only downside being she was feeling weak. Like she could feel every muscle and it was painful. Like she was powerless... She looked around the room and saw a bookshelf. She motioned with her hand to get a book. Nothing happened. What the actual hell?! She jumped from the bed and it was a mistake. Her legs were wobbly and she stumbled barely catching herself. "Motherfu...", she muttered, "who was he?" She walked over to the dressing table and looked herself in the mirror. Everything seemed fine, she didn't have any wounds until she reached her face and let out a loud shriek. *** Endy was walking past the door of the room Selene was at. He was curious about her and it took all of his willpower not to sneak in. He thought it was probably a bad idea to find him peeping at her like a weirdo while she slept. Romeo offered one of the rooms above the bar and he accepted. He wanted to keep an eye on him and Endy wanted to keep an eye on Selene so it was perfect. He was walking circles in front of her room lost in thoughts when he heard some noise. She was awake and he heard her swear. A moment later her heard a shriek and that was it. Endy barged inside, seaching a threat. He grabed her arm and pulled her behind him. It took some time for him to relax a bit and then he turned around. "Hi." he said to Selene, "I'm Endy." *** Selene was shocked. Her eyes were green! No wonder she couldn't use her telekinesis. She didn't have any powers and was feeling tired and sore. Her initial response was a little bit of fear. She didn't have time to think further about that because the stanger from before jumped through the door and pulled her behind him immediately taking a defensive stance similar to the one her father once teached to her. She could see his expression in the mirror, concentration carved his features and he looked almost feral. Once he was sure there was no danger he turned to her. "Hi. I'm Endy." She stared at him suddenly aware of the proximity. "What happened to me?" "You had some kind of seizure and then you just..." His voice trailed off. Selene could feel his look deep inside. She knew him, not just because she dreamt about him for so long. It was like her soul recognized his. She was alse aware of the strange weakness of her body and just leaned into him. His arms closed around her as she fit in his embrace like a glove. It was so natural to trust him. "What are you?" "I don't know. Romeo is searching for an answer. I might be a god. If i bleed blue, that is." "You don't know?" "No, I have no memory of my past. First thing I remember is waking up near some village in Greece.", he said not taking his eyes away from her, "I might be a soldier and I'm immortal. That is all i know." "You certainly have a soldiers technique." Selene was confused but calm. The fastest way to know more about him would be to cut his finger with Olympian dagger. But she couldn't summon anything. She tried to teleport. Nope, not happening. She tried to reach Romeo telepathically and hit a dead end there too. "It seems I lost my powers somehow while I was trapped in your mind. I could help you find out if you are a god if I could summon anything but..." Part of her was wondering was it smart to admit to him that she was powerless but she realized he wouldn't hurt her. In her dreams, his face was always distorted with pain, like his heart was pulled from his chest and although she always could tell he was beautiful seeing him in person, his eyes full of wonderment and with a slight smile... There was no doubt that this was the most beautiful man she had ever seen. Over the centuries, she met a lot of beautiful men but not one of them made her feel butterflies in her stomach. She watched his bottom lip and couldn't stop herself imagining how would it be to bite it. She imagined his taste, her nose filled with his scent. He smelled like summer breeze and salt and something else she couldn't identify. Her eyes flickered to his and she saw he noticed how she looked at his lips. Dark blush was creeping up her cheeks and she stepped back from him. "Let's see what's Romeo up to." she said turning to exit. Endy felt some inexplicable loss when she was out of his hands. He saw her desire for him and his body mirrored it. It was a matter of seconds to place a kiss on her full rosy lips and then she broke the spell. What was going on with him? He took lovers over the years but it wasn't an emotional need. As soon as he fulfilled his physical needs he moved on and yet here he was. Falling in love with a strange god-slayer girl who apparently lost her powers because of him. If he was a god should he fear her?
