I’m surprised to see how much progress they’ve made in repairing the damage caused by our assault a few months ago. There are no more bullet holes in the walls, and as I get closer to the office, I notice how new the flooring and ceiling are. I stop in front of the polished wooden door. The last time I was here, my father set off the grenade that killed him and almost did the same to Beni. I don’t bother knocking—I just grab the handle and step inside.
