Daydream
She was running away... her tiny legs were hurting... she was exhausted. But the men pursuing her wouldn't stop. She stumbled and fell. They surrounded her. She could hear them laughing and muttering to themselves. Before one of them could touch her, she saw a hazy image jumping at one of the men. She heard a boy's scream. It was more of a roar. Her teary eyes couldn't make out and she immediately hid her head between her arms, trembling in fear, wishing to be back at home with her Mama and Dada. But she realized they were not in this world anymore. She woke up in her bedroom, her aunt was beside her, worried and her eyes sunken from lack of sleep. It felt like a dream to her. But then the pain in her legs confirmed that it was not. She looked around the bedroom. "Baby, you are safe now.
