Chapter 29: A Sobbing Seven?

1432 Words
"Seven can cry?" Naruto inquired, dumbfounded by his statement. I huffed at his obvious attempt at teasing me, but the expression on his face seems far too genuine for me to ignore, now if it looked fake, I wouldn't give him the time of day (lie), but this looks real, like he actually was not aware I had the ability to feel sadness. My hand landed on his forehead, delivering a firm karate chop to the top of his head, his reaction was late as it took him around five seconds to realize he had been attacked and for him to quickly pull away with a whine, and complaining about how much of a cruel teammate I was. Nonetheless, I still rolled my eyes at his childish tactics. My eyes begin to glare holes into the smiling pretty boy's face, I could just kick that smile into Narnia right now. "You think lying will be enough to save your life?" I huffed and puffed, and even begin to pull the boy up onto his knees, kneeling down in front of him I noticed how he admired my Kakugan like it was the most priceless gem his eyes have ever landed, and he was quick to voice his thoughtless opinion. And do I hear dogs barking...? Seriously... Kakashi... "your eyes are still as beautiful as ever." he enlightened, I know I was blushing like hell just broke loss, the red dust tinting my unholy cheeks and the way he leaned in to get an even closer look took me by complete and utter surprise, so I jumped onto my feet and made sure to stay a safe distance away as a way to keep my personal bubble from being popped by this weirdo. "And as cute as ever." "Y-You...! You... you think flattery will get you anywhere?!" I stammered out, still flustered and completely stumped by his surprising words. "You didn't change a single bit, have you, Seven?" His voice was gentle and so full of affection I nearly gagged at the loving look he was giving me. I feel so uncomfortable and violated right now. "I'm disappointed, Seven. You promised you would never forget me," he admitted, a promise... this boy knows my weak spot. I bite my lips in guilt and begin to shift uncomfortably from one leg to the other, was I sure if I fully believed him yet? No. However, the way he speaks as if he knows everything, it makes me ponder on endlessly at his words. Met him when I was a little kid, I was crying. No, it doesn't even ring a f*****g bell. "You told me about how your father was so persistent on your perfection, how you ran away because you couldn't handle the frustration of controlling your Chakra." "My father teaches me everything about the jutsu I've grown familiar with. What's your point, stalker." The unfriendly hiss I gave him, it was supposed to make him feel dishearted, afraid, hell, he was supposed to s**t himself right about now! Instead, he gives a gentle and calm chuckle. I could hear Kakashi and Zabuza going at it in the background, I know Sakura ran to Sasuke's aid, I didn't miss it when Naruto excused himself to go to Sasuke, and even f*****g Kakashi's aid. "Yes, except for one." He admitted, my eyes narrowed into a harsh glare at the nerves he has. "Oh really? And what would that be?" I subconsciously leaned in, my Rinkaku stood out like the ends of a cat's tails as it curved harshly, threatening that if he continues this lie any further I won't hesitate to rip that tongue of his right out of his throat. "Controlling your Chakra." he chuckled, before continuing on and now teasing me as if we were close friends. "You get so frustrated when things don't go your way, it's almost childish and..." "Bratty?" I inquired. "Cute." Once again, I blushed. Way too much flirting for my comfort, yes I am a pervert, but I'm 13! I'm not mentally prepared for this yet! "Liar." I retaliated, to which he chuckled and put up his arms in a weak attempt to mock me. "You caught me there." "Way to ruin the mood, asshole," I grumbled under my breath, he was actually so out of character I wasn't sure if this was the Haku I was about to kick into another dimension or a childhood friend. His little reminder was starting to give me a hint to what he is speaking about, we did meet, didn't we? Or else this wouldn't have felt familiar. "I supposed you have changed, you used to be so much more gentle as a child." He commented, smiling warmly that it almost radiated off of him like body heat. "That is why I want you to be the one to kill me." I stiffened at his bluntness, his eyes showed no sign of fear, Kakashi's and Zabuza's shouts are growing in volume, and even Haku had begun to hesitant after hearing that, the mist seemed to clear slightly enough for us to see better, and his eyes, they were drawn to something. It keeps lingering along over my shoulders. He's gonna save Zabuza. "Perhaps, fate has different ideas of my death." "The hell are you talking-!" Is he... is he kissing me?! I stood there. Stumped. Unsure of what to do as my inexperience body felt his soft lips press against mine momentarily until he made a run for it behind me. he launched himself passed me, my Rinkaku shoots out and ripped at the fabric of his shirt, which I was hoping I could've gotten more answers from him. I want him to live until I was satisfied with my answer, it's too bad. He should've been wiser with his actions, he could've been breathing long enough to see tomorrow. Kakashi's Chakra shoots out powerful waves when his hand landed on a victim he that was shoved in the corner of his mind, until now. My tiny 5'1 frame nearly flew across from how close I was to the radiating waves of Chakra, my foot dug desperately into the ground along with Rinkaku using the floor as support. I just got my first kiss stolen, by someone I was supposed to murder. The mist begins to clear, and the scene displayed in front of me caused my shoulders to slump in dejection. I was never gonna get my answer, was I? Why he kissed me. Why he admired me so much, and hell, even why he bothered to speak to me ever again. He sacrificed himself for Zabuza, I wasn't sure if I should call him stupid or brave. He must really admire Zabuza and even loved him. "Heh, you did great kid!" Zabuza's sickening laugh reached my ears and my eyebrow twitched. His comrade sacrificed his life for the sake of his and that was the thanks his gets?! That was the respect he got? The ringing in my ears definitely didn't go unnoticed, and by the look of how much Naruto was shaking, he would bring to the light of how much Haku cared for Zabuza. My fingers subconsciously reached up and begin to trace along the bottom of my lips, that boy really surprised me. I was so flustered I didn't even think twice about him making a run for it. I can't worry about him, Sasuke was injured, and even though I know Sakura was at his side. I just wanted to be there. Slowly walking away, my footsteps pattered softly against the floor. Sakura sobbed harshly against Sasuke's chest and I rolled my eyes at her. It must be hard to breathe with her on him like that, I was feeling generous today, so I thought why not do little emo boy a tiny favor as a token of thanks for his effort in the battle. My hand gripped firmly at the back of Sakura's shirt, my Kakgune and Rinkaku was back where they belong. She yelped at the sudden pressure she felt and got lifted off the ground before gently dropping her off on the sideline. "Seven! What do you think you're doing?!" She sobbed even harder, screaming out scolding words in between hics and deep breaths. "Sakura, if you don't calm down you're gonna have a heart attack like a 97-year-old woman." with that being said, I kneeled down and begin to poke at Sasuke's cheeks, "I never knew you had soft, fluffy cheeks." "Sh...Shut up... octopus." "I WILL STRANGLE YOU!" "SEVEN NOOO!"
