"Sasuke, Sakura, Seven! Get ready!" Kakashi frantically spoke while the rest of us jumped into position. I grunted when the fog begins to surround us once again, dreading the thought of the same thing happening such as last time, all that water and with the annoyance of the boys trying to act like heroes. At this current moment, every single second that passes by jabs at my nerves endlessly until I sighed with annoyance and begin to skillfully twirl my kunai between my fingers nonchalantly. "I knew he was still alive. Making an appearance so soon, eh..."
"Goddamn it, Zabuza, Hidden Mist Jutsu again?" I grumbled under my breath, I am so not a happy camper right now. I literally just got woken up, quite rudely might I add, and also judged first thing in the morning, and now it's barely even 9 AM and Zabuza just suddenly thought to himself, "what a wonderful time to annoy the s**t out of those short sacks." God, why does my life have to be such a pain?
"Sorry I kept you waiting, Kakashi." The sound of Zabuza's voice irked me more than I thought it would've.
"Guys, can't we reschedule? I got s**t to do." I lied straight through teeth, but nevertheless kept a straight face, my head facing the direction his voice came from and my nose inhaled softly to confirm my suspicions.
"Tch, I see that brat is still alive." He hissed back, though my mind immediately visualized his mysteries face smirking. All I saw in my mind was a smirk. This smug bastard...!
"I see you're still being a d**k. Ya know, hun, being a d**k doesn't make the one in your pants any bigger." The snappy retort that led a grin on my face when I saw Zabuza appear in front of me, his frame towering over my own tiny one but I stood my ground, his finger was twitching and I noticed he even flexed his muscles a bit to intimidate me, which only made my grin grow in size. He's good at keeping his calm, I'll give him that.
"You sure talk a big fight, yet your teammates are trembling with fear..." The venom dripping from Zabuza's lips that melted in my ears only made me tense for a second, with my eyes narrowed into a challenging glare, I relaxed only a fraction when Sasuke's soft chuckle overlapped Zabuza's mocking words.
"I'm trembling with... excitement." Well, I did not see that one coming. I glanced at Sasuke from the corner of my eyes and the grip he had on his kunai only confirmed it, he really is excited. God that sounded so wrong. I shook my head and watched as Kakashi gave him permission to take out the clones, it was quick and swift, hopefully, the battle will continue to fast pace. I hadn't the time to be bothered with this. I yelped out in surprise when the water clone standing in front of me splashed a handful of water right in my front. The growling from my throat, and when Sasuke landed I did not hesitate to land a quick scolding smack to the back of his head.
"What the hell, lady?!"
"Hmph," childish pouting along with Sasuke's death glare was all the enemy team could see, my ears did not fail to pick up on Sakura's grumbling about how Sasuke and I talk more often than she does with him and how "unfair" it was that I was more favored than her despite my salty, unpredictable attitude. I had mixed feelings about her words, I felt smug that she was jealous, but at the same time; confused. I wasn't favored by Sasuke, I don't think anyone on this team even likes, or so much as favors me. We all returned our glares to the enemies, my bored eye of vision landed on the masked person. Seems Sasuke's got himself a little competition.
The two of them leaped into actions as the rest of us stood back, they clashed with each other endlessly before deciding it would be a wonderful idea to get into a nice, friendly conversation - right in the middle of a f*****g battle -- well, nice to know Sasuke's making friends.
"A Thousand Needles of Death!" The masked ninja stomped... his(?) foot on the ground, sending waves of water up into the air that swiftly formed with one another to make thousands of needles surrounding them. Tch, why did he stay there. The needles directed themselves at his body at frightening speed, right when it was about to hit their target...
Sasuke had vanished.
Ah, I see, he used his Chakra to send himself into the air. Smart. Kunati hurled itself at the masked ninja with every time he leaped back to avoid it until Sasuke no longer had any to throw. My feet were glued to the ground and I didn't want to jump in, I knew I couldn't. I just had to wait for the right timing, I had to wait for it to all play out or everybody would be pissed. Besides... this wasn't my battle until I decide it f*****g is.
Sasuke appeared behind the male, no doubt saying a few smug words before attacking. Besides, I felt like it was not needed for me to jump in, Sasuke seems to have got this one in the bag.
A strong kick to the mask's ninja's face sends him on his back to his 'master', landing with a sickening thump.
"It seems that I'm faster than you." Sasuke's smug words no doubt jabbed at their pride ruthlessly. I would love to agree and cheer for Sasuke... but I can't help shake off this feeling that the masked boy, now known as "Haku" was holding back. His lack of defense and movement just proves it, the hesitation in his muscles and attacks. It had me narrowing my eyes in suspicion. Of course, he can't be this horrible, Zabuza chooses him to be at his side, after all, there has to be more to this masked ninja than just some smug words of hesitation.
"I can't have you mocking our team, calling them brats... but Sasuke is our number one rookie of the Village Hidden in the Leaves, and Sakura here is our sharpest, Seven... believe me when I say you don't want to challenge her, and the other one is the number one hyperactive, knucklehead ninja, Naruto Uzumaki." Hearing Sensei brag about us certainly helped feed my pride, but this Haku has been bothering, ridding me of the ability to savor the praise.
"Sasuke, keep your guard up." I quickly informed, my tone much more serious than the usual playful threats or childish whines, and even angered screams of complete rage. I knew it took him off guard because his muscles tensed and his eyes were widened as he kept eye contact with me, "he might have something up his sleeves." I continued, twirling the Kunai between my fingers and throwing it in the air a couple of times to show off my sweet moves. You have no idea how long it took me to master that s**t.
"How unfortunate..." Haku stated dryly, I knew it, the air was so cold I could see it surrounding the boy, a simple hand gesture from Haku and an ice-blade appeared from thin air behind Sasuke, in my current jumpy state I threw the kunai I had been skillfully using as defense mechanism against boredom that hurled itself at Haku's face in a frantic speed.
"Sasuke!" I screeched, using it to create a distraction before I attempted very desperately to just get him out of there before anything too drastic happens. Tch, I hate this feeling, I've seriously grown a soft spot for these dumb asses, hadn't I?
Before the blade even so much as went a meter to Haku's face, Zabuza was quick to deflect my attack and threw his blade at my arm. I didn't even bother to dodge knowing his attack was pointless as the blade made hard connect was my skin, my ghoulish organs didn't allow the blade to do much until it shattered in Zabuza's grip. Though the harsh impact of his blade did send me a couple of feet behind, along with Zabuza himself, his shocked eyes were priceless as he glanced between his now broken blade to the ghoul standing in front of him. A sickening crack that ran loudly in Zabuza's ears, and the scaley tentacle that made itself known, my eyes locked with his for a tense moment, he was admiring my Kagune and Rinkaku. How cute.
Glancing over Zabuza's shoulders, I noticed that the ice blade finally formed into a... floating mirror. s**t, a hidden jutsu. I grumbled, perhaps my attempt to divert Haku's focus from focusing his Chakra to the blade which had been slung strictly at his face. If it wasn't for this damned Zabuza getting in my way....!
"Going against a ghoul, just how suicidal must you be, Zabuza?" I mocked, my Rinkaku firmly pointed at him, threatening to attack at any movements that threaten my comfort. He seemed glued to the floor like he was staring death in the face.
"Crystal Ice Mirrors!" I heard Haku's yells, and I took a threatening step forward.
"Move out of the way Zabuza."
Haku had.. just placed himself inside one of the mirrors.
"Sasuke!" Kakashi's screams grabbed Zabuza's attention and he launched himself backward, standing between Kakashi and Sasuke.
"Just make a move to help him and I'll kill those three in a heart beat." Zabuza's futile threats made me rolled my eyes, seriously, so full of himself.
"I'd love to see you try." I challenged. What caught me by surprise was the abrupt throw Sakura had managed aiming at one of the mirrors, I was even more thrown off when Haku appeared right out of it, half of his body still inside (oh god..) and his hand gripped at the Kunai that used to belong to Sakura. I narrowed my eyes.
Before I could take another step, something shot out from thin air and continuously smacked at the mask ninja's head.
"Naruto..?"
"Naruto Uzumaki is finally here! Yeah, believe it!"
Geez, what an entrance.
