Chapter 14: The Assassin of The Mist// Part 1

The boat rocked under the pressure of everybody's body weights. Sakura stiffened beside Seven with Naruto and Sasuke lounging around casually behind the two. The girl beside Seven shivered slightly, clutching her shoulders with her hands wrapped tightly around herself in an attempt to comfort her fear. "All this fog makes the atmosphere really creepy." she giggled nervously. Seven's body spun around and grabbed onto her arm as a screeched ripped through her in complete and utter surprise. "I've come for your soul." a dark satanic voice forced its way out of Seven's throat. A giggle following along quickly after at the sight of Sakura's dumbfounded display of emotions. The amusement that laced itself tightly around her laughter didn't go unnoticed when Sakura finally found it somewhere with her to throw herself away from Seven - nearly knocking the boat upside down in the process. "Cut it out, Seven!" Seven's body stilled stiffly when she felt a body push himself pushed up against her back and a head rested on her shoulder. She turned her head and stared at Naruto in confusion, her eyebrows arched as if questioning his intentions, and his puppy dog eyes were making caused her to feel on edge. "What the hell are you doing, Naruto?" She nearly hissed, swatting his head away from her shoulder. His reflexes saved his face from being swatted away like a bug, when he leaned back too far and fell over, nearly taking the boat down with him. The rest of them exclaimed with a loud scream, some just a simple grunt. Eyes turned to Naruto with a deadly gaze, threatening him to continue his idiotic actions. He sweatdropped before rubbing the back of his neck in a silent apology. "Ops... anyways!" he quickly dodged the bullet, before turning back to her with begging eyes, "please continue the awesome story, Seven!" "Does he like the story that much?" She sighed in exasperation, not sure how to handle a situation such as this. "How charming, you want to know more about me?" She bantered, allowing the male to stupidly return his chin back to her shoulder, resting it with an unusual calm heartbeat. He has some balls, and earlier he nearly pissed himself at the mere sight of me, what's with the change in attitude? She was curious, and so she asked the question, "When'd you grow some balls?" "Huh?" he seemed embarrassed by the innocent inquiry, which was a phrase that refers to "when did you become so brave?" but obviously, Naruto of all people would never understand that. He jerked his head away from her shoulder, though from the corner of her eyes she was able to catch a glimpse of the creeping blush dusting his pale cheeks. Her hand reached over her shoulder, pinching his cheeks relentlessly, "Ow!" "You little nasty. I meant, when did you stop being afraid of me?" "Because you saved me." he shrugged as if it wasn't a big deal in the slightest. Bewilderment slowly overtook her fuzzy mind, unsure of how to react. She clutches on his cheeks hardens, beginning to tug at it slightly. He exclaimed at the torment when his childish screams and pleads for you to stop abusing his cheeks went unheard, his hand clutched at her own to lessen the pain, "ow, ow, ow, ow, ow! Seven!" "What the hell is up with that? First I'm nothing more than a ravenous beast to you and now apparently I'm your friend?" She growled under her breath, releasing her vice-like grip on his cheek before she tears out the flesh. Her statement, however, went unheard, just how she liked it to be. She sighed in defeat, interjecting at the beginning of Naruto's sentence, quickly starting the story, "As I was saying last time...." The CCG, a newly made organization created with the goal of driving ghouls into extinction. Specially trained Ninjas who specialize in ghouls and their biology, despise them knowing little to nothing about their kind, or if they are even able to eat anything other than humans. Their mission is to kill and take some back alive if possible. Despite their ravenous ways, their biology is more than useful for helping Ninjas in their mission. Akio was planning to capture that ghoul or kill her if necessary. However, the thoughts didn't come often, but simply hearing the term ghoul would cause him to think back to their encounter, his hand clutched at the fabric of his black shirt, wrinkling it without the slightest care in the world. With the signal from his superior, all of them leaped into position, while the three main squads would move forward. Akio being in one of those squads. His agility didn't fail to impress his superior, he may not be the best in the team, but if he bothered to put more efforts in his training, he would be exceptional. It's a shame he's beyond lazy. His eyes searched around for the woman in questioning, hidden in the trees he knew there was no point in hiding. He knew their sense of smell for flesh was more than they would've expected. So, he went on his own accord, going against his superior's wishes. This wasn't the first time he has done that, but it could possibly be the last with the heavy weight of the consequences may be his life. The keen eyesight he had been blessed with did not allow him to miss the familiar face walking past the curtains in one of the more... sizable houses. It was quite obvious she was of importance. Well, there was one bigger than hers, so, maybe only of slight importance? Second in command perhaps? His form stayed in the shadows, making his way closer and closer to her house with all the speed he could possibly muster to avoid any confrontation with any other ghouls. His reckless speed did take quite the toll on his energy, draining him slowly. The back door. He had reached his designation, his hand slowly crept the door open with soft crackling sounds. The sound of laughter could easily be heard from the inside, though once were slightly faded and scratchy, however, it did have a hint of femininity. The soft giggling could be heard, the familiar tone of the smooth voice nearly melting his ears; sharing the same traits as a soothing chiming bell. He shook his head at this beauty in human form, it was a well-known fact that ghouls were exquisite beings, physical appearance wise, but their core... how rotten it must be. Tricking us humans into falling for them, and then stabbing us in the back. Oh, but only if he knows how ironic it was. He shook his head, slowly tipping the door open a jar, enough for him to slide his body in without a hint of struggle. The door shut quietly, his weapon more than ready to strike. "We know you're there, might as well stop being a little creep and come out. Guards, alert the villagers - it appears dinner has arrived earlier than planned." Her voice demanded, she casually leaned on the door frame with little to no fear hinted in her eyes. She knows these Ninjas do not have the equipment to kill her kind just yet. "I knew humans were f****d, but I never thought you'd be this suicidal. Are you a masochist or something?" "You talk too much, lady." "Aggressive are we?" She tutted, her body finally pushed from the wall with no effort once so ever, making her way towards him, her Kakugan more than proud to be adored on her features-- complimenting it even further. "Why are you here?" "To have a tea party," He rolled his eyes at the obvious question as his eyes leered at her form, daring for her to take another step closer. She chuckled, tracing her fingertips along the fine lines of her bottom lips, and despite his glare indicating for her to stay back, he even went the extra mile to lean his body back. Like he was disgusted by her presence as if he would be tainted by her like she was some sort of disease. "What I don't understand about you humans, is you have monsters all around you. Yet you fear us?" "Well, our monsters don't exactly eat humans. They're not ravenous beasts like you." he retaliated with no hesitation though caught by surprise at the sudden laughter erupted from her form. "Oh, the lies your own kind has the guts to feed you with." she shrugged, though the two were quite rudely interrupted by a hoarse voice quickly interjecting into the conversation effortlessly. "Seven, why are you speaking to the human?" she inquired. "It's the human I told you about, momma." the answer caused the ghoul's mother to chuckle despite her obvious voice-lost, she sounded as if she was dying. Much to Akio's amusement, though he quickly buried the pity somewhere inside the corner of his mind. "I don't know why you even bother with these thick-skull creatures. They never listen anyway. They only care about themselves, forget to help others." The older ghoul chuckling continued, as the woman who stood in front of him only giggled and nodded her head in agreement. Akio's grasp on the weapon tightened until his knuckles were white, he nearly bared his teeth at ghouls. What an idiotic action that would've been. "Listen here you old fu-" "Watch that filthy tongue of yours, human." she hissed, taking a threatening step towards him, two male ghouls came out from behind her, one seemingly a child, their glares never wavering from their form, "now look at that. You've gone and made them mad. I mean who wouldn't be, you just cursed at the former leader of this... 'pack', as you humans like you consider us." "Tch, how was I supposed to know." he growled, taking a step closer, "she can't be all that great." he made his way into the room, though quickly stopped by the two males, even the little boy seemed angered by his presences. The woman only exhaled in annoyance. "I can handle, go help out the villagers. Make sure they get to no children and tell the guards outside to watch carefully, these are ninjas after all," she ordered, pointing out the door. "Who died and made you queen?" the little boy inquired sassily, his hand planted on his hips. "Me, now leave." "Fine, whatever. Human lover," he mumbled the nickname under his breath, but regret quickly drained all the confidence from his little body as a shoe landed on the back of his head, the harsh impact sending his face into the door. The older male laughed at the young, before mumbling something and pulling him to his feet. Walking out childishly. She held out her hand, signaling for him to come closer. His weapon held tightly. He took a few steps with caution, the dread of being attacked by the two ghouls filling him, though he felt as though he could oddly trust the ghoul, but for another reason. Like she wanted him to know they weren't as evil as the humans claim they were. His eyes widened at the sight before him. There laid a terribly injured ghoul, bandages wrapped around her form, neck and even part of her face, showing only one of her eyes and her lips, though the cuts on it were only beginning to heal. "Ghouls have an extremely fast regenerative system, our body is far more superior than that of a human's. You could stab us with a knife and we'd walk away with a simple paper cut," she informed, sitting beside her injured mother. She lifted up chopsticks that helped supported and guide the meat to her mother's mouth-- he didn't even bother asking if it was a human's as his nose scrunched up his distaste. "Though, there are special cases when ghouls decide to act up, attacking one of our own, an elder, nonetheless." "Why are you telling me all this?" he spoke softly. "I wanted you to know that us 'monsters' are also capable of love, and losing someone we love." she mumbled, placing down the plate, "I know you also know the feeling of that." "You don't know anything about me." "Vice versa. Am I right or am I right?" "You don't know anything. You don't know what us humans have to suffer through! Everything is terrible for us, and you ghouls getting in our way only makes our lives worst." He spoke once more with a sterner voice before the grandma shook her head. His keen eyes quickly caught onto the quivering form of the hunching ghoul, she shattered the plate with her bare hands, she didn't even throw the damn thing at anything! She just used her body force like it was nothing more than paper as the ground littered with little pieces. "Stupid human..." the old lady whispered under her breath, closing her eyes as if trying to escape the situation by using sleep as her tactic. "I... don't know anything? Is everything terrible? Don't make me laugh." Before he could even blink her hand found its way around his neck, slamming him against the wall his vision faded as she lifted him up, choking him violated. His ears rang in his head, as his everything in his line of vision spun. He gagged at her vice-like strength, pushing him up further against the wall, as if she was trying to mold him into the concrete, "You don't know what we've been through, you privileged little shits. You think just because you got rejected on a little date by your dream girl that makes your life hard? Or because daddy never bought you the little sword you pathetic Ninjas practically moan for? Your shitty excuse of a shitty life makes me f*****g sick." she growled, before dropping him on the ground, his legs nearly gave up underneath him, he wheezed out in an attempt to breathe back all the delicious air back into his lungs, you never really appreciate the little things in life until somebody puts you in a choke-hold, nearly snapping your neck in half. "You.... bitch..." he wheezed, his legs felt like noodles as they gave out from under him, his relentless coughing didn't waver. "You don't know much it f*****g hurts! To be left alone, to be betrayed by someone you loved all because of the way you were born! To be looked at like some demon, to be kicked when you're down." she mumbled the last part to herself, kneeling down to his level, he laid on his back, facing upwards at her. She dipped her head down to his face, merely centimeters away from touching his face, her long blonde hair draped around the two, covering their faces, "It's rude to not look at someone when they're speaking to you. I'll spell it out for you this once so the rest of your remaining brain cells don't burst from the exertion, simpleton. I don't need your f*****g pity, that's not what I'm here for because we're not the f**k victims. All I want is for you dumbasses to reason you're not the only creatures with emotions. You're not the only ones who have the f*****g will to live!" Her hand slammed against the floorboard, breaking it under her bone-crushing strength only inches away from his head. He gulped, eyes glancing at the broken floorboard, he flinched at the subtle and gentle touch of a soft skin brushing against his own. "Do you understand now, idiot?"
