"Sasuke, I hope you realize this exercise is about teamwork," her body casually pushed up against a tree though Sasuke's scoff made her put her guard up, this kid and his trust issues. Seriously.
"Noooooooooooo!"
The two of them exchanged glances at the familiar voice screeching, her eyes searched the area for the familiar lovesick puppy typically found following Sasuke closely around like she was his damned babysitter from hell. Slender fingers entangled itself in her hair, brushing through her ebony locks.
"Why would I believe you? Thanks to you we've only got one bell left." Sasuke grunted, staring at the bell that was supposed to belong to him within a matter of seconds, yet here he is, chatting it up with the ghoul who've made his chances of getting the bell far worst than his original percentage, "Besides, you could've mentioned that a little earlier."
He was right, she knew that but yet she still continued to put herself first. She supposes ghouls never really change their selfish ways. She supposed that she had been independent for so long, she found it difficult to put others before herself.
"It's a force of habit. Ghouls aren't used to putting others before themselves," she sprung the bell up playfully, before snatching it back into her palms. Almost as if she were teasing the male, "But, why would they put us in squads if they wanted us to work individually. Did you ever think about that?"
Lies, Seven, she knows she just wanted them to pass so they could do most of the dirty work.
"Now give me a reason why I would trust a monster?"
Her glare hardens at the male.
"Monster? I'm here, training as a ninja so I could protect their village in the future, and this is the thanks I get? I get labeled a monster?" She thought bitterly.
"Fine. Then don't." She snapped, spinning on her heels as she walked away from the male.
"He's honest, I'll give him that." She softly grumbled under her breath.
"Naruto, how the hell did you get caught in such a lame trap?" She stood in front of the male who was found dangling upside down, caught by his foot as a rope engulfed his feet, holding the Genin hostage. Well, at least he's a very leisure boy at the moment. He growled childishly, she found it hard to believe anyone was able to take this boy seriously.
"My future dream is to surpass the Hokage! I want the whole village to acknowledge my existence!"
She cringed eternally at the sympathy should have suddenly grown for the male, as her eyes gaze up and down, analyzing the situation. It's a win-win situation really, he becomes Hokage and she gets the free time she's searching for. She didn't see what the big deal was with that Sasuke. He really is so far up his own ass he doesn't even realize how obvious this exercise was.
"Well.. err umm.... you see..." she raised her hand to gesture for the male to stop his explanation, quite frankly, she didn't want to hear his lame excuses at the moment. With a single jump, her kunai slice through the ropes.
SNAP
THUD
Her feet gently tapped at his legs, checking if the male was alive. His head was spinning, though she just stood there and stared, waiting for any indication from the genin that he was alright, exhaling loudly through her nose she stood there, waiting for the dazed male to snap out of it. Then again, he did fall face first. Idiotically enough. She'd expect a ninja to have much faster reflexes than what he was displaying at the moment, however, she couldn't blame the boy for trying. Her eyes snapped in the direction of the thud heard from afar.
"I'll be back," she mumbled to the Genin in a gentle voice, though she knew full well he didn't hear her in the slightest. Running in the direction of the sound in which alerted her, pleasantly surprised by a wild Sasuke stuck in the face of the Earth.
"Boy, you really are down to earth, Sasuke," she mocked, crouching down in front of him in amusement. Musing at the boy when she suddenly snapped out of the trance by his rude remarks.
"Tch, shut up," he snapped, turning his head away from herself as she frowned at him. Eyes twitching in annoyance.
"All I wanted was for him to beg me for help, was that so much to ask?" She complained in her mind.
She heard rattling in the bushes, the corner of her eyes snapped towards it, gingerly waiting for any sort of battle she might need to engage in. Only for the one, the only, stalker Sakura to roam out of the bushes like a frightened wild animal. The three of them exchanged glances for a while, though mostly it was between Sakura and Sasuke. Meanwhile, Seven stood on the sideline, lurking.
"Sakura," Sasuke called out, waiting for any kind of reaction. Sakura did not fail to amuse Seven even further.
"This time it's a freshly severed head?!" She shouted more so to herself than anyone else, in particular, her hands clasped tightly around her cheeks as she frantically begins to shake her head in disbelief, attempting to rid herself of the hallucination. She felt faint, dizzy even like she was about to drop any moment now, but she couldn't. Not with a ghoul near Sasuke like that. She had to save him.
"Yeah, I ate his body."
Sakura screamed at Seven's statement, immediately flinging her kunai at the ghoul. Seven's face being the target. Her body swiftly dodged the attack, contorting her figure as she twisted and turned dodging the kunai aimed at herself with precise mobility. A single tentacle-like organ shot out and aimed at Sakura's neck, her Rinkaku took her by surprise, her breathing hitched further when her eyes landed on the demon-like girl with onyx eyes that are deeper and darker than any abyss. Her expression is one of utter boredom.
Red iris... and the sclera black with red veins across the eye and into the skin around the eye
.
Her face morphed into a wide grin of delight when Sakura was simple enough to fall for such a lame trick.
"Joking." She admitted smugly. Sakura's eyes still wide and it was as if her body refused to obey all commands, almost as if the slightest of movements could trigger the monster and she would pounce any moment given. Like a predator against a prey, "Is this how you react to danger? You'd be killed off a lot quicker on the battlefield if you do."
She's right.
"I, I..." Sakura attempted at speaking, exasperation took over Seven's form, thinking fast she rolled her eyes and swiftly commanded for her Rinkaku to return within her body.
"Pussy." Seven grunted, turning to Sasuke and swiftly pulled up out of the hole. The male didn't struggle, as he glanced at you. His eyes, he was avoiding your own. Was he afraid.
Or was he ashamed that a monster of all things, had helped him?
