Chapter 3

When Doctor Khayaelihle Prince Khoza walked past, every woman took notice; he was only six feet tall in his twenties. A handsome man with the perfect body, strong jawline, and those piercing eyes. He drove every woman crazy, not just because he was good-looking with every symptom of handsomeness but because he was the son of a well-known businessman. Jacob Khoza, founder of Afri Oil Holdings Ltd., and the beautiful, ever-looking-young, high-class, and luxurious Fiona Khoza. Walking out of the elevator at level number seven, catching every woman's attention. He strolled towards the nurses' station, looking forward to getting some files. “Good morning." His deep voice frightened the young nurse at the desk, who wasn't paying attention to his presence. “Good morning ... Welcome back, sir," she finally said. He nodded. “There you go ..." Jordie handed him six files; he took them, turning to leave and thank her. Mbali is one of the nurses who go crazy about Dr. Khoza; she would make sure to come with her shortest nurse uniform and looking good just to get his attention. Which has never happened since her arrival. “Dr. Khoza ... do you perhaps need something? He turned to nurse Nkosi. "Something...? He raised a brow. “Coffee, tea, anything for you, Doc?" she smiled, her eyes sparkling. He gave her a faint smile. “Thank you, nurse, but I'm good." He turned to walk away from the unhappy nurse who was insisting. Just steps away from her, Dr. Hloni blocked his way. "Dr. Khoza... nice to have you back. I've got some muffins here; would you like to have one?" Khaya forced a smile and simply said, "It's good to be back. Thank you for your offer, but I'll pass." “I made these myself; I'm really good at baking...” Khaya turned away and got inside his office, closing the door behind him. He placed the files on his desk, and just as he was about to settle in his office, there was a knock on the door. “Yes," he permitted entry. It was another nurse. "Dr. Khoza ... Uhm, I'm here to check if your office is clean since you hadn't been here ..." He sighed heavily, not wanting to be rude on his first day back to work after being away for the whole eight months. He was also part of the Global Health Partnership. “Nurse Shezi, that's why we have the cleaning stuff; they will do that, you don't need to worry yourself..." She had her hands on his desk, trailing it. "But I can personally do that for you ... “Can you please excuse me? I have work to do. Close the door behind you." He was irritated. Then there was another knock. This time it was Samuel who knocked and entered; he was used to this. My guy, look at you..." He was very happy to see Khaya back; they greeted each other. “You busy with something... I don't want to..." “Nah, Nurse Shezi was just leaving.” Samuel closely studied her. "When will you stop hovering around men?" He asked, mocking her. She scoffed, "What's your problem? You are so forward...” “Diana, get out of here, now! "Jeez, man," he said as soon as the door closed. “Right onto it, I want to hear everything, man." “Everything? Dude, I was only focused on doing my job, that's it." Samuel seemed disappointed in his friend. "You mean, like, no hookups?" “Nope, unless you want to hear about all the affairs of patients in our surrounding foreign countries." “Nah, I'm cool with that... How is Kiera?" “She's fine; she didn't look like she missed me. She was having a good time with her grandmother." Samuel and Khaya had a lot to chat about; they also had a lot to discuss about work. This was their time to get right at it. *** You know that would be unfair to our daughter. Isn't there another way to solve this? "Her voice was soft, barely above a whisper. The study room was perfectly closed, but she couldn't risk anyone hearing about this before their daughter. “We would have used it if there was one." Suppressing her anger “Senzo, this doesn't make it okay; this is my daughter we're talking about. You want to protect your empire; this is our daughter's future we're talking about." Senzo turned his back on Helen and faced towards the window sipping on his whiskey. "She's also my daughter; this is the best thing for her. Even though it's a benefit for the company, “Luka is becoming a threat each passing day. This is for the best. She stood frozen, staring at her husband, who showed no signs of fear. “Luka? You mean Luka Romanov?" “The one and only," he simply said. Helen 's jaw dropped, showing her canvas and elegant face was shocked. "How is he ..." A wave of fear washed over her. “No idea." “I don't know; you tell Anitta yourself. I don't think I can handle her myself." She was startled. “She's my daughter; she's going to have to obey me for once in her life. This is her whole legacy." “You know how your daughter is; I bet she'll agree with you." Peering through the glass window, "What about the boy?" “He just got back. Jack said he'll talk to his boy." “Fiona and I are on good terms, and I don't even know her son so well. I hope you don't regret this." “It's also your duty to convince your daughter as much as they will be convincing their son. Besides, they are more like family, so what's new? . This has been part of our culture; it just happened to be ignored by this new, upcoming generation." “You know I will never master the courage to tell my daughter such news that will break her. Like you said, this new generation, they don't care about culture, especially something like this." As the saying goes, "Behind every thriving business, there's always a story to tell." What happened behind that thriving business has come to hunt down the two successful known businessmen. Long-time signed contracts can only save them, or maybe not.
