Frank was teaching Jane on how to fight, it would not be fair if she was the only one who can not fight in the group. She sat down breathing heavily as she raised one of her hand.' Let's rest.'
Frank smiled. ' You look so strong outside but inwardly you are just so fragile.'
' No, I'm strong inwardly too.' She argued.
' Hmmm, maybe strong with your thoughts and words but weak strength.'
' tch!' She smirked.
' When do you plan to see the boss?' Frank asked.
' Why do you also have to call him boss when he's your father?' Jane questioned.
' I prefer to call him that.' He answered.
' That's strange.' She mumbled.
' Were those words meant to be said to me?'. Frank heard her clearly even though she was mumbling.
' Hmmmm' She stood up .
' Do you want us to continue the training ?'
' No, let's go and see your father.' She could not help but look at Frank's face after her statement. Frank was surprised, he looked at her briefly and walked ahead of her.
Jane bit her lip and then increased her pace to meet him.
' What should I tell the boss when I see him ?'. She asked.
Frank does not know why her words made him smile.
' Are you scared?'
' No! I have a strong heart that does not get scared easily' She boasted.
They went directly into the boss room but she could not see his face, there was curtain blocking them from seeing his face.
She bowed slightly but before she could speak, the boss started the conversation.
' It's been over a day since you came back but you chose to come here today.' His voice was authoritative and demanding an answer.
Her gaze fell on Frank before she spoke. ' He delayed me, I would have come here since I was back but Frank delayed me.' Frank was shocked. She shifted the blame on him and even called him by name in front of the boss. The boss was also surprised after hearing her call out Frank's name.
' What?' The boss asked.
' I apologized for her lack of respect, I still have a lot of things to teach her .' He bowed slightly.
' Am I disrespectful ?, did my words lack regard?'. She tried to reason why Frank uttered those words.
' Sit down.' The boss ordered.
They sat on the floor.
' Now tell me about it.'
' I applied for the scholarship and I would be going tomorrow to write the exam.' Frank looked at her and her eyes widened as a smile appeared on her face. She did not tell Frank when she was going to write the exam.
' I can't tell you everything since you have decided to keep something away from me.' She smirked as her thought disappear. 'Then, Frank should follow you.' The boss replied. It was Frank's turn to smirk but he just looked at her and shake his head.
' You can leave.' The boss voice jolted them.
They walked out of the boss room, staring at each other but not talking.
' I must have been underestimating you.' Frank broke the silence.
Jane smirked. ' Am I suppose to be happy with those words ?'
' It seems you are already happy with it.'
Jane laughed so loud after hearing his response. ' You must be a witch that have a special mirror of looking into people's mind.' She laughed again.
' Maybe the mirror didn't work on you or...' He blocked her way.
Jane stopped walking ' or what ?'
' or you are also a powerful witch'. He continued.
Jane walked away from him and then stop ' you are quite strange, if I was you I would have asked myself why I did that ?'
Frank smirked. ' There is still something you lack as a spy.' Frank moved closer to her .
' What and why ?' She screamed.
' You don't have the ability to keep secrets, you don't have the ability to read people's mind. '
' Is that all ?' she folded her arms.
Frank looked at her face, it seems she was quite angry but Frank did not stop. ' You don't have the ability to hide feelings, you get angry easily, you laugh easily, you talk easily most times without thinking. Should I still keep going ?'
He looked at her again, she stood akimbo but her cheek was red not of excitement but of anger.
' Next time, you have to tell your mentor before you make decisions. Spy does not make decision on their own.' Frank smiled.
