I woke up to soft sunlight streaming through the window, Jonathan's arm wrapped around me.
Last night's memories flooded back,
making me smile. Jonathan stirred,
pulling me closer. "Morning," he whispered, his breath warm against my skin. I turned to face him, our lips meeting in a gentle kiss. As we pulled back, Jonathan's eyes searched mine.
"Last night was... everything. Are you okay?"
I nodded, feeling happy and vulnerable.
Jonathan smiled softly. "Good. I was worried I'd crossed a line. i shook my head, my voice filled with emotion.
"You didn't cross any lines, Jonathan.
Last night was perfect. I've never felt that close to anyone."
Jonathan's face lit up with joy, his eyes sparkling.
"Me neither, Kiara. I feel like I can be myself around you, no masks or pretenses."I smiled softly, feeling the same way. We talked for hours,
sharing secrets and dreams, our connection growing stronger.
Suddenly, Jonathan glanced at the window.
"Hey, the storm's passed.
Do you think we'll still have to stay here today?"
I shook my head, looking out the window too. "I don't know, but I hope so. I like being snowed in with you."
Jonathan smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Me too.
Maybe we can convince Ms. Lee to let us stay another night?"
I grinned mischievously.
"Or we could just sneak away from the group tomorrow and come back here on our own?"
Jonathan's eyes widened in surprise, then he laughed.
"You're a rebel, Kiara. I like that."
I walked over to the window. The sun cast a warm glow over the snow-covered landscape. "It's beautiful," I breathed.
Jonathan wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me close.
"Yes, it is," he said, his eyes on me, not the view. I blushed, feeling his gaze like a caress.
Suddenly, my stomach growled loudly ,breaking the moment.
Jonathan chuckled. "I think someone's hungry. Want to grab some breakfast?"
I nodded, smiling up at him.
We headed downstairs, hand in hand.
The inn's dining room was cozy, with a warm fireplace and large windows.
We filled our plates with pancakes, bacon, and eggs, then sat down at a quiet table.
As we ate, Jonathan asked me about my family. I told him about my parents, my older brother, and my little sister.
He listened intently, his eyes never leaving mine.
After breakfast, we decided to explore the inn. It was a beautiful old building,
with creaky wooden floors and cozy nooks.
We discovered a game room, with a pool table and board games.
Jonathan challenged me to a game of pool, and we spent the next hour laughing and competing with the others who stared at us like we had grown two heads.
As we played, I realized how much I enjoyed his company. He was easy to talk to, funny, and charming.
As we played pool, Jonathan told me about his passion for debate.
How it helped him overcome his fear of public speaking, and find his voice.
I admired his dedication, his willingness to take risks. After our game, we decided to take a break, sitting together on a cozy couch.
Jonathan put his arm around me, pulling me close.
I felt weird but comfortable, like I belonged there.
Mrs. Jenkins, the innkeeper, joined us in the game room. She smiled warmly,
watching us cuddle on the couch.
"You two are adorable together. I've seen many couples come and go, but there's something special about you both."
Jonathan and I exchanged a glance, both of us feeling a spark of hope.
Maybe this connection between us
was something real. After talking with Mrs. Jenkins, Jonathan suggested a snowy adventure.
I agreed, and we bundled up in coats, gloves, and scarves.
The cold air was refreshing,
the snow-covered trees sparkling like diamonds.
We walked hand in hand,
enjoying the peacefulness of the forest.
