I was absolutely still, by the door, holding the wheels of my chair tight.
“What offer?” I asked. My heart suddenly quickened because of him and I couldn't explain why. He glanced at me. For a moment, he seemed kinda surprised although it was hard to tell. He let out a small exhale and then slowly he raised his hands and he made a hole with one finger and stuck another finger in between.
I watched him, my head tilting a little. I didn't understand what he had done until I took a closer look. My eyes grew wider immediately. ‘Oh s**t. He didn't take it seriously did he?’
As weird as it may seem, I kind of felt the urge to laugh, myself. Why would a hot guy like him want anything to do with me but his eyes told me he wasn’t joking. I gulped, wheeling back a bit. My lips parted but that was it. Hell I didn't know how to start explaining that I didn't exactly mean ‘s*x’ when I made that sign.
He took a step and another, coming closer and closer to me. My heart skipped beats, my face flushed.
“Do… do… don't come any further.” I finally spoke but my words kept breaking off. I could feel sweat gathering in the all the wrong places. Damn, he was making me nervous with his effeminate looks and his cold enslaving gaze. He stopped right where he was when I said that.
“Look… em, I did that because I wanted you to stop staring. It's… it’s a distraction. That's all it is, really.” I stuttered.
The atmosphere got really tense the second our eyes met. He held my gaze and refused to look away. Perhaps he was searching to see if I meant what I was saying.
I stayed still, breathless. He blinked calmly and; he start towards me again. I shrieked in my mind, gripping the wheels of my chair so I could push myself away but all of a sudden, the chair couldn't move. My hands couldn't move either. I was stuck and I didn't know how.
I shook my hands vigorously, trying to break free but it wasn't working. My heart was thumping faster and faster now, fear creeping in, like icy chills on a snowy morning.
My gaze darted from him to the wheelchair and back to him, in frenzy. The horror in my eyes did not make him flinch. He still kept coming, with his gentle strides and his emotionless blue eyes. He looked like a beautiful Lucifer. I tried to speak but my mouth couldn’t open. I was trapped like a mouse in a box and he was probably going to eat me.
No-el stopped right in front of me, my legs touching his, a little bit. He leaned over, placing his hands casually on mine. His hair grazed off his shoulders and rested on my legs. He reared so close I could feel his breath against my nose.
My heart stopped.
The fragrance coming off him filled my nose and lit up my mind like ecstasy. My body went into heat immediately, an electric sensation coursing through me. I bit back a moan.
This was insane. I was freaking out, that was for sure, but I was aroused too. His looks, his smell, and his beautiful lips that danced around before my eyes; everything about him was a high without drugs making me feel urges I didn't knew I could.
For the first time in my life, I wanted s*x and I wanted it bad. I wanted him to give it to me. No-el grinned like he could read my mind. He whispered. “O dear, what are you going to do about all this… passion?”
I bit my lip, holding it all back even when my body was betraying me. It wasn't just his words, it was the lustful desire it held. Tension rippled through my body, stirring up a craving I knew I couldn't control. His voice was slowly unfurling something I kept so carefully contained. I felt like I was under a spell.
“Don't hold it back, Elizabeth.” His breath brushed against my ear, my face burning red. “Just let me in. I will make it-”
“No-el!”
His words were cut off abruptly. That harsh tone was like a hammer. It smashed all the pressure into pieces. My eyes burst open, the stiffness gone immediately.
No-el pulled back and straightened up, a displeased look on his face. He made eye contact with the man behind me. He still looked so calm but there was bloodlust in his eyes.
“f**k off.” My savior said.
No-el was still for a moment then he suddenly smirked. He looked clearly like he found those words rather absurd.
“I didn't think you were the type to butt into my business.”
“She is family business. Lay off. I don't want anyone giving her a permanent reason to stay. She should leave as oblivious as she was when she came.”
No-el chuckled. His laugh made my blood curl. He wore a bone-chilling grim on his lips. Whatever it was that amused him, I hoped so dearly that it didn't involve me.
“I see you haven't changed much since I last saw you. Alright, I will listen to you.”
No-el’s gaze fell on mine. My heart skipped a beat. He gently grabbed my wheelchair and effortlessly pulled me from the doorway into the room.
He bent over and whispered into my ears. “Catch you… later.”
I gulped, clenching on my skirt. He made a light laugh as he walked away. My hands were trembling. My heart was beating fast.
I couldn't dare to turn and see who just saved me. Nothing made any sense to me right now. I felt like I had never felt before, for a stranger and then just a few words made it all disappear like it had never happened.
Perhaps it was that thought that compelled me to turn around and look. So I did. My savior was still in the passageway. Just like No-el, he was like a mannequin, staring at me with his cold auburn eyes.
Surprisingly he didn't give me the creeps; instead his presence was a bit comforting.
“Thank you, Drake.”
He didn't respond. He just stood there, his expression unreadable. That was odd, no doubt. It made me begin to wonder if he was angry with me over something. He seemed to be, since I met him. I didn't know why but I think I could guess why he was angry now; if he was.
“I didn't make him come here or anything. He came on his own. Frankly I don't why he was here acting all strange and everything.” I tried to smile; to lighten the mood but it wasn't working. Drake heaved and turned his back on me.
“Get out of our lives. Little girl, this isn't a warning.”
