Orion sent a text saying that he would come to pick up Kael the following morning so they could start self-defense training. That meant I would have most of the day free, giving me time to look for a car. The rental company had already emailed me another bill for the coming week, and the cost was becoming ridiculous. A small part of me wished I had kept the car Travis gave me, but it was probably better to completely cut that connection. There was no reason to keep dealing with him when I didn’t have to. Not only would owning a car be cheaper, but I also needed one. Kael would be turning fifteen in just a few weeks, and he would want to get his learner’s permit.
