'What do you mean?' she asked stalking for time. She knew what he meant and wanted to explain everything to him but saying it in the presence of Myles... well maybe it was even better that way. So that she wouldn't have to do it again.
'You know exactly what I mean, Alexa', he said, looking at her with disapproval. 'You found your lost son and the father of your pups and you never thought it fit to let me know?' he asked and there was hurt in his voice. 'I thought I meant much more to you than this. Why am I even overthinking it, maybe it is not my right to know. Afterall, I was just good enough as a stand in father and no more!'
