Cure

1175 Words

The thin metal walls shook around Bradley as he pressed his hands and feet against them for stability. Every muscle in his body strained as adrenaline coursed through his veins.   BOOM. The whole building seemed to shake as the crazed woman threw herself against the door once more. The duct groaned and creaked as the supports began to give way. One side began to slope downward, forcing Bradley to scramble backward frantically.  Thankfully, the weakened ductwork managed to hold without the strain of his extra weight. Then, he heard the heavy door creak open once more. Bradley strained to look through the vent, though his view wasn’t as close anymore. He could just barely make out the tip of a gun peeking through the doorway. He held his breath. They were going to put her down like a dog.
