Kurt Hammer arrived at the Presbitero Maestro cemetery on crutches together with Frank. The cemetery was filled to the brim with statues, mostly made from white or gray marble. Some of them represented the Virgin Mary, others angels, and others n***d men who sat with their elbows on their knees, looking down into the ground in front of them.
John Fredly’s coffin was open and placed on a small grass spot between two short palm trees. Alessandra Chavez and what seemed to be her mother had already arrived, in addition to Hugo, Jonas Fredly, Linn Fredly, and Mrs. Swanson.
"I thought he was going to be buried at home in Norway," Kurt said to Jonas when he and Frank had arrived at the coffin.
