Sophia and I are shocked at Jordan’s suddenly take charge attitude. I expected him to be mad but not to actually forbid it from happening.

Sophia gets pissed it and storms into the bedroom and slams the door.

“ Jordan man please don’t be like this. I know it’s a lot to handle but I care about your sister a lot man. It’s not a one time thing for me. I don’t know what it is about her but this time it’s different. I tried to fight it honestly I did but I can’t.” I try to tell him but he ain’t listening anymore.

“ Then try harder, this thing between you is over . I can’t have what you do for a living put my sister and my family in jeopardy. Did you ever think of that. What if someone found out you were dating.

They could use that against you and Sophia could get hurt. Did you even tell her what you do for a living ? Or is she still dumb to the fact that you kill people for money?

I hated to see the hurt is Sophia’s eyes, f**k I could see how bad I was hurting her. But Jordan was right until I made up my mind about my job I couldn’t put Sophia in any danger. I also couldn’t tell her why she would be in danger either.

I come home to an empty house with no one to share it with. I got all this money but do nothing with it. Is this life really worth it ?

Next thing I hear is Sophia slamming the front door and mumbling about how me and Jordan are assholes.

I finish getting dressed and meet Jordan up at the main house with 20 minutes to spare.

“ Hey man you ready to go, I could really use some time on the lake. “ I tell him grabbing a water out of his fridge.

“ Oh, you don’t gotta worry about me and Sophia I pissed her off royally. We will be fine staying in the guesthouse. “ I tell him and he laughs.

“ Bro. I know she came up here all feisty and she even took a swing on me. To which I laughed and that pissed her off more. “

“ I know you didn’t want to hurt her but it had to be done for her own good even if she don’t know it yet. Are you ever planning on telling anyone else what you do ?” Jordan asked that question about a million times in the past.

“ I don’t know anything right now except that Sophia hates me and that’s where she needs to be right now. Letting her be angry will help us move past this quicker.”

“ I’m sorry it had to be this way, I can’t believe the first time you fall for a girl it’s Sophia. Under different conditions I’d be cool with it I just want you to know that.”

Jordan tells me as we walk out to his truck.

I laugh a little as I get in and tell him “ No man that doesn’t help that makes my decision even harder. Now I feel like I’m disappointing not only her but now you.”
