Lee p.o.v.

Time out on the lake with Jordan and pop Sean is exactly what I needed. I got a s**t ton to think about . Even before things got complicated with Sophia I was considering leaving. Maybe that’s what made it so easy with Sophia.

The fact that I was already considering leaving that life behind me. If that’s what I chose to do how do I do it ? How do you get out of this life ?

Pop Sean grabs a beer from the cooler and tosses one to both me and Jordan.

“ So I hear my baby girl is home too. Her and Lizzy stopped over the house just before you boys got there to pick up your mom.

Heard all about that slime-ball Oliver, never did care for him. Your mom is now dead set on trying to fix her up with someone .

She thinks that will keep her in town, to our surprise she actually agreed. “

Jordan looks over at me and mouths “ sorry I didn’t know.”

I know I promised Jordan nothing else would happen with Sophia until I got out. But what if I do that and she don’t want me. I pushed her away pretty hard this morning.

She all but said she was going to find someone else to entertain herself with. I hope that’s not the case. At the time I just thought she was trying to get a reaction from me.

Yeah we did jump into bed together pretty fast. But I know her it’s not like we were strangers, she wouldn’t actually do that would she ? I mean I hope that our time together meant more to her than that.

I’m over here contemplating changing my whole world for this girl and she could be out finding a new man. f**k this is all screwed up.

I don’t know how to get out if this and I can’t ask her to wait until I figure it out because then I’d have to explain to her why.

It’s bad enough Jordan knows I can’t put this s**t on Sophia too. Jordan was right I never should have started anything with her.

Trying to get my mind back on the task at hand I tell pop “ good for Sophia she deserves a good man, I hope she finds one.”

Now it was Jordan’s turned to look confused and again he mouths to me “ what the fuck.”

Jordan comes up to me as pop is packing up the fishing poles . I just shrug my shoulders at him, “Sophia will do what she wants. Like she said she is a big girl .”

“ Your kidding me right dude, she said that to get a rise from you. She also knew were going fishing with dad. She knows that dad would boast about her possibly staying. She knew he would say something. Knowing it would get back to you .”

Pop Sean comes up and asks what’s going on . I hate to lie to him so I just say girl trouble.

“ That’s a first usually that’s Jordan’s domain, that was until Lizzy came around, Son just do whatever you have to to make it right. I’ve never seen you fall for anyone and I can tell something’s been eating at you all day.

Just go up to your girl and make her see you. I’m sure you can work it out, what girl could resist you. I’m a very lucky man to have two very handsome sons. he says

Jordan smacks my arm and whispers “ if he only knew “ then he laughs. So much for him being so pissed he punched me to now making jokes at my expense.

Sophia p.o.v.

Sitting at a bridal shop with my mom and Lizzy should have been a blast. That’s another clue me and Oliver wasn’t going to work long term.

We were engaged for more than 2 years and I never went shopping or had an engagement party. Jordan and Lizzy are doing their party this weekend.

When mom goes to look at dresses Lizzy finally ask what I know she’s been dying to ask.

“ Not that I’m taking his side but why did you punch Jordan this morning? I was getting my coffee ready and all I heard was you asshole and how dare you.”

Yeah I’ve been waiting for her to ask, it’s been a few hours surprised she didn’t ask sooner.

“ Yeah so Jordan came down to the guesthouse and caught me and Lee in bed together. He proceeded to punch Lee in the face. Followed by him forbidding me and Lee from seeing each other.

That turned into him demanding I move up to the main house. I got pissed and left the room. Next thing I know Lee comes in and is agreeing with him.

Saying his life is dangerous and I could get hurt and how he wishes it was different . I followed that by slamming the front door and tell him that I’ll find someone else To entertain me. “

Lizzy sits there with a shocked look on her face I bet she wasn’t expecting that. “ Oh, Soph I’m so sorry I never … just wow. Jordan’s always said Lee’s job is dangerous I just always assumed he was joking. “

“ Wait , is that why agreed to go on a date tonight ? I though that was just a cover and you were gonna cancel. Your not really going out with someone else are you ? “

“ Yeah I think I will, I mean why not right Lee don’t want me anymore.” I know when I say it that it’s not true but I’m still pissed at him. Maybe me going out with someone else will give him a taste of what really losing me would be like.

I said no games but here I go playing games to make him jealous. In hopes that it sparks in him to defy my brother and declare he wants to be with me.

Lizzy gives me a I can’t believe you look” Soph now you know that’s not true, I only saw you and Lee together at dinner but I could tell. That man is crazy about you and you know it.

I love you but your playing a very dangerous game here. Why make things harder for you both. Just try and talk to him again, try to get him to explain why .”

Lizzy was always the smarter and more practical of the two of us. But I don’t want to be smart or practical. If I couldn’t see it before I see it now her and Jordan are perfect for each other.

“ Let’s get back to why we came, you my friend are getting married!” We both squeal in delight

“ I know we just got back in touch but I have to ask, even though we parted ways it’s like no time passed at all would you be my maid of honor?”

“ I was actually still planning on asking you once Jordan finally got around to telling you. We had planned to invite you up this weekend. Then Lee called and asked if he could come up and we got distracted. “

Leaning over to hug Lizzy,she just made my day “of course nothing would make me happier!”
