Jamie’s POV
It’s my last day in the hospital and I am packing up to go home and Patrick is helping me. He has slept here everyday that I have been here, though as far as my parents and best friend are concerned he comes in the morning and leaves at night. Seeing as he has nowhere to live Patrick will be staying with me for the time being. I am taking him to work with me this Saturday. He has nothing else to do and I like to be around him.
My mother has taken every chance she had to try and convince me that Patrick and I belong together and that he has a crush on me. Ever since the first time they officially met when she pulled me aside and told me that he was gorgeous and that I should and I quote ‘jump on that while he’s still single’ end quote. As much as I may want to believe that Patrick does in fact have a crush on me and as much as I definitely have a crush on him I don’t want to risk it. Patrick is just so amazing and the more I get to know him the more I like him. He is so funny and kind and hot so unbelievably hot.
“Hey what are you thinking about so hard.” Patrick breaks me out of my little reverie and looks at me expectantly awaiting my answer with that perfect little dimple popping out of his right cheek god how I love that dimple. I realise Patrick is still waiting for me to answer so I quickly nod and say “Yeah, just thinking about work tomorrow. You’re coming with me right?” I hope it’s still a yes because I find being away from him quite painful, and I don’t know why. “Yeah of course I mean it’s not like there is anything that I would prefer to be doing not that I have anything else to do.”
“Good. Well my mom dropped off my car yesterday so once we get everything in the car we can be on our way.” As I reach down to pick up a bag it is taken from my hand I look up at Patrick and our proximity makes my heart speed up but he just grins and says. “Allow me. You just got out of the hospital.” Patrick proceeds to wink at me then start to pick up as many bags as he can carry which I am grateful for so that I don’t have to withstand the embarrassment of him seeing me blush. My knight in shining armour.
Patrick manages to get all my bags and extras down to the car in two trips which is a miracle in and of itself but he doesn’t even seem out of breath I try to pack them into the car but Patrick puts his hand up to stop me he looks almost angry as he states “I could never allow a lady to perform manual labor having just gotten out of the hospital it would be a disgrace.” He looks so offended that I should even think of lifting a finger that I can’t help but laugh and step back so that he can pack the bags which he does with ease I don’t know how he manages as my bags aren’t exactly light which is a nice way of saying they weigh more the a bunch of bricks. What can I say there were a lot of things I needed/wanted during my stay here including but not limited to at least ten of my favorite books and three books that I wanted so that I could study to which Sophia called me a nerd but got them for me nonetheless.
Once everything is packed expertly I might add I jump in the driver’s seat of my sky blue mini cooper and Patrick takes the passenger seat and we begin our drive back to my apartment. After we arrive Patrick once again refuses to let me help unpack so I am relegated to the job of setting up the guest room for Patrick. In the time it takes me to make up the bed Patrick has already unloaded everything from the car and is sitting at the table waiting for me.
I shake my head as I walk up to him “What are you superman? How did you finish so fast?” He looks confused by my question. His eyebrows crinkle and his nose scrunches up before he asks. “Who’s superman?” I chuckle since that seems such an outrageous question and I sometimes forget that Patrick isn’t from here and that he doesn’t know somethings.
“Um... He’s a superhero from DC comics he was born on another planet his parents sent him to earth when their planet; krypton explodes and he gets powers from the yellow sun of earth so he uses his abilities to help people and in order to keep his ear to the ground he becomes a reporter and he has an arch-enemy Lex Luther and he has a girlfriend that works at the newspaper called the daily planet with him her name is Lois Lane. He’s pretty awesome I mean not as awesome as The Dark Knight but that’s a subjective opinion.”
Patrick still looks a little confused so I continue “Anyway we can explore that another time. For right now are you hungry?” I am admittedly a little excited that I get to mould Patrick’s comic and cinematic knowledge of both DC and Marvel heroes. I don’t know how much other knowledge he has. He seems to have a basic understanding of people but if he’s going to stay which I really hope he does we are going to need to work on that.
