Kaci came out a few days later to set up the new visit schedule. While she was there, I decided to find out some information.
“Kaci, I wanted to ask you, does Missy have to go through the programs and counseling like we did?”
Kaci looked up, surprised at my question. “Well, yes she does. It’s a part of the plan.”
“Ok, so has she started any of it?” I asked.
She looked almost lost for words. “Well, I know she’s been going to a substance abuse program. But that’s the only one for now.”
It was time for the final blow. “Well, if she hasn’t done any of it, how come she’s been given visitation rights? Especially since we weren’t even allowed to talk to the kids until we started our programs.”
