We leave the airport after helping Tristan get his bags. We pull up to our house about a half hour later. Jonah parks in our driveway and shuts the truck off. As I’m getting out on my side, Illy comes outside, having heard the truck pull in. When Tristan gets out of the truck, Illy’s face lights up in joy. She runs up to him and throws her arms around his neck and he spins her around, making her laugh.
“OMG!” she squeals. “I didn’t think I’d see you until the rehearsal.”
Tristan laughs from her excitement. “I wanted to be able to see you beforehand so I was able to get permission to leave earlier,” he tells her. “Where’s Adam?” he asks.
“He’s at his parents’ house getting ready,” Illy replies. “He’s actually been there a lot over the last couple of weeks packing up all of his stuff. The
