I quickly hid myself behind one of the tall trees. Gosh!! I can certainly hear his footsteps but then I think it's not walking towards me as the sound of his footsteps keeps fading. When I couldn't hear any more sound I quickly ran out of the woods only to come face to face with my mother. "Darling, where have you been? We have searched everywhere for you. And why are you panting so heavily? I couldn't even realize I was breathing so fast, my heart sank into my stomach I was completely dumbfounded At this point, I had no idea whether to tell her what I saw or not. She would probably not believe me if I tell her. I'm fine Mom. I said and sighed heavily as I ran my hand through my head trying to pretend everything was okay in front of her. Come here" Mother pulled me by my arms as we walked away heading in the direction where Father and Principal Harriet was standing. I think they must have sighted me coming towards them Father gave me a cold look. That's unlike him but I ignored it. And principal Harriet stood there smirking at me. But then we came closer and Principal Harriet led the way. Falcon hall, I suppose. It's a beautiful hall painted in rainbow colors. "Room 5" was boldly written at the top of one of the doors. We walked into the room. And my supposed roommate was obviously happy to see me. She turned and ran towards us excitedly, she spoke to me like she was eagerly awaiting me. "Hello, roomie. I'm Eleanor, and you are? I'm definitely not going to answer that. I stood there staring at her with my dangerous dark eyes which got her a bit worried and that was expected by my parents, as Scarlett has always been that way before she died. Do you feel okay? You look a little pale. Eleanor stated with her eyes wide open "Maya always looks half dead. Father responded to her. Ohh.. She giggled. Eleanor. Please take Maya to the registrar's office to pick up her uniform along with her schedule, and give her a tour along the way, Principal Harriet said and directed Mum and Dad back to her office. That wasn't really a good idea. Eleanor, as she's been called, has been talking nonstop since we left. "Oakcrest High School was founded in 1851 by Alpha Logan; he had managed the school since then till he died. The school wasn't just meant for the people of Black moon alone, it also admits people from other packs and countries' You can save the sanitized sales pitch. I don't plan on staying here for long. I managed to speak to her. "Why not? "This was my parents' idea. Finally, we got to the registrar's office, Eleanor pulled the door open and we saw the registrar sitting on her chair comfortably. You must be Maya, welcome! I was expecting you. She called out. So here…. Go ahead and change into this. The registrar said and handed a uniform over to me, I took it and left to our room with Eleanor closely behind me and after I changed, I headed out to meet my parents, who were waiting to say goodbye. "Look at you my little viper, seeing you in this uniform brings back so many terrible memories. Father said as he walked up to me and hugged me… I winced as he held me so tightly. Why don't you boys wait in the car Maya, and I need a moment? Mum took a deep breath and said while Liam Scarlett's little brother, walked up to me and hugged me. Liam, you are soft and weak. You would never survive without me. I will miss you too sis Liam responded to me. Scarlett has always been the one protecting her little brother. The driver opened the car door, and they entered while Mum walked up to me. Any plans you have of running away end right now. I've alerted all family members to contact me the moment you darken their doorstep, you have nowhere to go "As usual, you underestimate me mother, I will escape this educational penitentiary and you will never hear from me again Mother sighed, surely you are a brilliant girl Scarlett but sometimes you get in your own way, I'm sure you will grow to love Oakcrest High School. I'm not you, mother, I will never be a homemaker. I blurted out of course in anger knowing that she had kept an eye to watch over me. "I'm told girls your age say hurtful words so I shouldn't take it to heart "Fortunately you don't have one" She smiled and of course, wasn't sincere. Ermm… Actually, we can't talk to you in your first week so we will call you next week she said and went into the car as they drove off. Heavy rain began to fall. I felt uneasy just sitting in my supposed room, flashes of the incident went through my mind. I could picture this giant werewolf and it looked so familiar that I wondered where I had seen it before. I had no idea what to do at the moment. That boy's dead body would still be there. I need to go check out and probably find out who he is or rather find out if anyone was able to see the dead body out there in the woods. I quickly ran out of the room, pulled out an umbrella, and walked towards the school mini-gate. I needed to head back to the woods, but I must follow the mini. gate, and suddenly a heavy gargoyle pulled up from the fence and aimed straight at me. I stood there totally frozen as I watched it come down towards me which left a lump stuck in my throat. I felt it again. Yeah, that feeling that I was going to die I couldn't feel myself anymore. I tried to run and save myself from this heavy statue, but I couldn't move my legs. I kept watching. it come down fast towards me and then my eyes dimmed and I blacked out.
