Two Months Later
Hailey's POV
1:23pm
I'm laying on my bed deleting hate. When Hayes and Nash got back from their thingy, Hayes bought me a phone also I know what you might think, Hayes and Nash didn't tell anyone. This hate is from my bullies, and others from school. I sighed and put my phone down. I walked to Nash's room to see if he could take me to get some food. I'm not even kidding, I've not eaten in a while. A month or two actually. I've only been drinking water to keep me alive. Anyways, I made a big mistake. Once I opened the door all of Nash's friends from his group were staring at me, lovely.
"Hailey! What the hell!" Nash yelled. Tears started to gather in my eyes. I just messed up. "Who are you?" "Nobody." I stated before I started to turn around to head out the door. "Why the hell did you come in here?" Nash shouted as he stood up, pulling me back into the room by my hair and slamming the door shut. "I'm sorry okay? I wanted to see if my brother could take me to get some food. Sorry I haven't eaten in 2 months. Sorry for being a damn mistake and that you hate me for no damn reason." "Am I the only one that heard brother when she was talking? Because I heard brother! NASH I'M SUPPOSED TO BE YOUR BEST FRIEND! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?!" A boy with chocolate brown hair said "I'm sorry! I didn't want her to embarrass me!" "You don't have to worry about me anymore you asshole! I'll just do what you have always wanted me to do. I'll go f*****g die!" Nash looked over at me, his eyes widened. "Hailey, wait!" before he said anything else, I ran out of the room, slamming the door behind me.
I ran down the stairs as Nash opened his door frantically. "I'M NOT COMING BACK!" I screamed to any family member that cares, which is none of them. Before I ran out the door, I saw the chocolate haired boy running down the stairs. I slammed the door behind me then started running. I could drop a few pounds, so running is always an option. I heard the door open then close.
I took off sprinting, then finally made it to my destination. The bridge at the end of town. I climbed over the railing then sat on it as a total rebel. I heard someone panting behind me. "Hailey! Are you okay? Listen Nash didn't-" "Yes he did!" He was panting. "I'm Cameron by the way." "Why do you think I would care about you ducking name?" "I just wanted to be polite. You seem like you need someone to be nice to you." "I'm just done with this." "Done with what?" I looked at him with the eyes of a mad woman. "I'm done with the hate! Done with the lies! I'M DONE WITH THE FACT THAT MY FAMILY DOESN'T WANT ME, PART OF THE FAMILY!" I screamed.
Then, I let go.
I was so close.
So close to ending it all.
So close to no more pain.
So close to no more tears.
So close to no more Will.
No more Nash.
No more Hayes.
No more Skylynn.
No more parents.
But.
I was caught.
Cameron pulled me back over the rails and into his arms. He kept whispering how everything was going to be okay, but, was it really going to be okay? I felt like I was breathing through a straw that had the other end covered. Cameron had picked me up and started walking back to my house. As I saw the house in the distance, I looked up at Cameron. "I am so sorry." He said as Will, Nash and Hayes started coming out of the house when they saw us. "Let go!" I screamed and eventually got out of Cameron's hands. "Hailey! Wait!" I heard Nash yell before I ran into the woods behind our house. I saw Hayes and Nash's friends started coming out of the house and run after me. I was crying and running at the same time. The lack of food from the last two months was not helping me at all. I was becoming faint. Everything around me had, no sound. Everything was moving slowly.
"Hailey please!" I heard someone yell but it sounds like a whisper. I started running faster as the 11 boys run after me. I was pumping myself harder before jumping and grabbing a big branch on the side of a tree. I pulled myself up and started climbing it. "When have you been able to do that?" Will asked as they all stopped around the tree as I placed my head on the side of it. My chest pressed against it with my legs hanging off the side of the branch. I was panting lightly. Everything around me is slowly turning black with each blink I take. "Guys...I...got...her..." I heard spaced out as black consumed my world.
Gilinsky's POV
I had climbed up the tree to retrieve Hailey. I didn't even know that Nash and Hayes had a sister other than Skylynn. Hailey is a very pretty girl. "Guy. I got her." I said as I grabbed her waist. She was limp. I quickly put her on my shoulder then climbed down. "Is she okay?" Nash tried to touch her when I took her off my shoulder and basically cradled her. I moved back so he wouldn't touch. I took off running with her and go in my car. I sped to the hospital. "Someone please help!" Nurses came with a gurney. "What happened?" "I don't know she just passed out." They took Hailey then rushed into the emergency room.
I was pacing in the waiting room, when all the boys came in. "Where's my sister?!" Nash shouted as he got all in my face. "Okay 1. Get out of his face. 2. If you actually cared about you sister she wouldn't be clinging to life support." We turned around to see a nurse. "Which room?" I asked as I walked closer to the nurse. She whispered room 217 in my ear then walked away. I took off running to the room. Once I got into the room, I saw Hailey's small body. She had many medical machines around her small body. She was pale. "GILINSKY! WHERE IS-" Nash yelled as they ran but he stopped when he saw Hailey. I walks dover to her. I grabbed her hand, rubbing my thumb against the back of it. "Cam. Come 'ere." He walked over to me quickly. "She's super malnourished. They have been starving her. They can not be here when she wakes up." He nodded and turned towards everyone. "Nash, Will, Hayes. I think you guys should leave." Hayes looks like he was gonna cry. "I'm not leaving my twin!"
Cameron's POV
"I'm not leaving my twin!" Hayes shouted. Wait, hold up. Twin? Will and Nash pulled him out of the room. He was kicking and crying. I felt really bad. Something is happening at that house, and I'm not letting Hailey go back to it. She is only 14 years old. She has long brown curly hair like Mahogany's but brown, bright blue eyes, and perfect white teeth. Her eyes are brighter than Nash and Hayes' eyes combined. We sat around her for a while. Hailey's heart beat was weak, her breathing was unsteady. The nurses came in and started doing somethings that made Hailey's breathing steady but her heartbeat was still weak. The nurses walked out. "Do they not notice how skinny she is? She's literally like a twig." "I'll go get a nurse to get a feeding tube in her." Johnson and Carter went to tell the nurse as we all sat around her small little body.
Two nurses came in and put a feeding tube in her. They gave her the first meal and she already looked better. Her heartbeat was stronger and her skin was a lot less pale. We sighed in relief. "She should get better. She seems to be responding better. How did you know she was malnourished?" The nurse said then asked. "Just look at her. She's 14 years old and she's as skinny as a 8 year old." The nurse looked at her for a while then gasped. "What's wrong." She walked over to her and held up her arms. Scars. She had delicately places them on her body. They were so small and subtle that you could barely tell they were even there. The nurse pulled back thin blanket and looked at her thighs. Bigger, deeper and nastier scars littered her thighs. My heart broke into thousands of little pieces. Such a beautiful little girl, cuts. All because of her family.
