CHAPTER 5

*DEVON MCKNIGHT*

I was so pissed at him for not remembering me! This is so unfair, why didn’t I forget him like what hE did to me. Argh!

“By the way, why don’t you just sell the school to Brandon. I mean it’s old it looks like a haunted house at night.” Mizzy said.

“I don’t want to, it is the only thing that my grandparents left to us, it has sentimental values. I can’t just abandon the things that they’ve worked hard for, it’s too cruel for me.”

“Then what about your work? With William?” Edhen grinned when she said William.

“Well I can manage that and the school as well. Mr. Brown is there to cover up for me. At least I won’t be seeing Brandon at the office.”

Before leaving for work I got a phone call.

“Hello?”

“Hey Monkey girl.” I rolled my eyes as I heard the voice of the biggest jerk in the world.

“How did you get my number?” I asked.

“Oh don’t feel so high because I called you, I’m still not interested in you until you practice how to kiss.” I can hear him smirk. I am so pissed at this man.

“Look who’s talking, The big i***t who can’t even remem..” I stopped myself, he might think that I want him to remember me.

“What? You done?”

“Nothing, What do you want from me?” I don’t have time for this.

“I want to make a proposal, I will only be there in the weekends.”

“What?!” I exclaimed.

“Relax monkey girl. I’m not finish. Just count my thirty days as it is, well as I hate it, it will take me longer to going there.”

“And how about YOU teaching P.E, What we are going to schedule things because the ‘great jerk’ himself can’t make it until the weekend?”

“Very funny, well just give me another job then.” I know he is trying to avoid the uniform that I gave him. But that gave me a perfect idea!

“Fine, You will be working on the weekends for like...” I’m so not friends with numbers.

“fifteen months.” He said.

“Yeah fifteen..fifteen months!! That’s ridiculous, what are you thinking?!” I exclaimed.

“I already though about that, since you are working here in ‘my’ company, you know that it will be too hard for the CEO to be out for a month. During the weekdays I’m here at Zorbe but that also means I’m still working for your community.”  He gave emphasis on ‘my’.

“What do you mean by letting you work there?” I’m lost.

I heard him sigh. “Well you just have to give me work from there, like paper works or something.”

“Oh I know where this is going to, no can’t do Mr! I don’t really care how busy you are. You are going to work here, and that’s final!” I hang up on him. That felt good.

Who does he think he is! Arrogant, Jerk.

I went to the office of Mr. William, Thank God I’m not late. I entered his office.

“Good morning sir.” I smiled at him, my sweetest smile.

“Morning.”He smiled at me, so handsome. “Are you ready on your first real day?”

“Yes sir, I have reviewed the hand-outs that you gave me last time.”

“That’s good, so that is your table just outside my office.”

As William was instructing me some stuff, a blonde woman flooded her way in the room.

“William!” She exclaimed, ignoring me, what a b***h. The shocking part is that he kissed William in front of me, with tongue. Gross!

Finally after like seconds of shocking moments, William pushed her away.

“Amber, What are you doing?!” The girl is still hanging her arms to William’s neck.

“You didn’t miss me?” Flirty voice came out on her mouth.

William glanced at my obviously shocked face.

“I’m sorry,” he pulled out Amber’s arms and walked to my side and embrace my waist. “I told you months ago that we’re done, and..” He looked at me then smiled. “I already have a new girlfriend, Devon.” Then he kissed me passionately. I saw Amber’s jaw dropped to the floor.

“Is this some kind of a joke? You changed your taste real bad.” Then she looked at me with disgust from head to foot.

I was still stunned of what happened, that I can’t even defend myself. I mean, it’s not my fault that William kiss…William just kissed me!! Oh my gosh, why is this kissing thing happen to me, with two gorgeous men.

“I’m really sorry, I already broke up with you.” He said.

She is still glaring at me. She composed herself then said, “Well it’s your choice, but if ever...well I’m very sure that you will get bored with that little girl, just come to my apartment, I won’t change the password.” The she winked at him like nothing happen.

I am still in my position, not moving an inch. There was silence in the room for minutes, finally William broke it.

“I am really sorry for that Devon” He looked at me waiting for my reply.

“Ahh,..ahhh” I still can’t find the words to say.

“I know that I might have shocked you…well from the look on your face I did shock you. I just don’t know what to do that time.

“It’s fine,” I finally got the words on my head. “I mean, you just did it because it’s necessary.”

“Look I didn’t do that because..” I stopped him.

“No, really it’s fine, I was just surprised. Next time you do that, give me a sign.” I faked a smile on him, then made my way outside before I collapse.

I know it’s not a real kiss, but it’s still a kiss. His lips was like… as soft as a cotton candy, his breath is minty. It was heavenly.

I was still on cloud nine, when I saw a hand waving in my face. It’s Brandon. I rolled my eyes.

“Why are you still here?”

“You’re drooling monkey girl.” He said. I cleaned my mouth with my hands. Then he laughed.

“Your funny, that was a master piece.” He continued laughing. I can’t believe I fall for that trick. People are staring at us.

“What do you want Walter.”

“You might consider my option.”

“NO!”

“Fine I will just talk to your boss to fire you.”

“You can’t do that.”

“Why not? Last thing I remember, I am still the CEO of this company.”

“You said it yourself, that he personally picked me even when you opposed, so that won’t work.”

I saw his expression change, that all I said was right.

“Then how about a bribe.” He smirked.

“I already told you..” I didn’t finished my sentence when William went out and saw us talking.

“What is going on?” He asked. “Are you bothering her again Brandon?” He defended me.

 I stuck my tongue out on his face. He got mad.

“Are you going to defend this girl, than me?  Your friend for ten years?”

“That’s exactly why I’m defending her, I know you too well.”

HAhaha serves him right.

“By the way, why are you still here?” William asked.

“I’m still doing some negotiation with…” He stopped when he saw my face mouthing ‘no don’t say it.’ Then he smirked. “Oh well, I am just welcoming her in our company.

“Ahh yeah he is, he’s not really bothering me.” I said half-heartedly.

“Okay, just tell me if he does.” He winked at me before leaving; he has to go for a meeting. I blushed.

“Oh I see..” Crap I forgot he is still here. “So you like his type huh.” He smirked at me.

“Shut up and do your job in the kindergarten.” I shot him a deadly glare.

“Oh no you can’t make me go there, without you.”

“What?”

“Here’s the deal, you accompany me every time I go there, or I will tell William that you actually like him.”

I nodded my head and smirked.” Are we really going to play that childish game? Hell no!”

“Fine then I’ll just tell him that you lied in your resume.”

Crap, how did he know about me lying in my resume. That would be the last thing I want William to know. That I got this job not because I graduated from college. I don’t like him to think of me that way.

“Fine!” I finally gave up.

He grinned at me. “That’s my girl.”

“When do you plan on going then?” I asked.

“This week end, I really don’t have time this week, but maybe next week I will.”

“You should be, and what am I supposed to tell William?”

“Well I will handle that.” He throws an evil smile then headed his way.

I rested my head on the headrest of my chair.

I didn’t got a chance to finish college because I used the money to make the kindergarten continue on. My friends tried to help me, but I rather want to have this on my own, It’s one of the places that I treasured the most. I love my grandparents, and they love the school.
