CHAPTER 002

915 Words
I blinked my eyes several times as if trying to wake myself up from this dream. the place was awfully familiar, it felt like I'd spent a lot of time here but I couldn't pinpoint where this was. I remember being attacked by a pack of rogue wolves and losing my life to them. then where was I again? this didn't seem like afterlife at all. There were a bunch of people who looked a lot younger than me, wearing quite simple clothes — Then it hit me. This was my highschool. The place I spent most of my youth in. My eyes fell to a nearby mirror and I couldn't help but gasp. I looked so young and different. Just like how I used to look back in highschool. No bags underlying eyes, vibrant and stylish clothes, pale white skin, slender figure. I looked almost pretty. "Rory!" I startled half to death when I felt a hand on my back. Turning around I saw her. "Melissa?" She was my best friend in highschool, a bestfriend I trusted a little too much. We were separated from each other when I was announced as Zephyr's mate and she was announced as David, other pack's alpha's mate. She looked so young too. "Why are you still standing here, frozen? Don't we have a class to attend?" I tilt my head, not understanding her words but I still let her guide me towards wherever she wanted to take me. The old memories flashed before my eyes. My classmates who used to tease me about my Luna position in the future and me celebrating my birthday and having a blast here, were the prominent ones. Melissa took me up to the stairs and to the seats in the back just when I realized I stepped on someone's foot. it caused me to look down at the person to apologize but the sight before me left me agape mouthed. Those sapphire eyes I once found my heaven in, no longer had that effect on me. I felt nothing. No butterflies, no excitement, no nervousness. It was nothing. "I'm sorry" I almost let out a gasp, my voice no longer trembled talking to Zephyr. He looked so young too. He just blinked twice before returning his gaze back to the front of the classroom. What was happening? Is this a dream? This is too real to be true. "Did you complete yesterday's homework?" Melissa asked, going through my notebook as I took a good look at it. I would always make such detailed notes in a neat and understandable way. "Of course you did" She heaved a sigh, shaking her head. I was assured this was not a dream. Then, is it possible that I... "Good morning class," Mrs. Jones said entering the class. I could never forget her, she used to be my favorite teacher. "Welcome back to school. May the start of this semester brings good luck and happy memories" I stilled, not believing her words. The start of the semester. The same old highschool, lack of identification between Zephyr and me. It now makes sense. I was teleported back in time. But how? It was the start of my last year at the school before I graduated. And it meant, I still wasn't announced as Zephyr's mate. I gathered my thoughts and tried connecting the dots. Maybe I dies in the future and so I was sent back in the past to... fix my mistakes? Does it makes sense? No! I held my head in my palms, my eyes falling on Zephyr who was focused on listening to the teacher. He had such a youthful appearance, makes sense that he wasn't announced as the Alpha yet. My stare on him intensified and the only thing that felt in this room was me and him. Was this the same man who cheated on me? Because right now, he looked so innocent and pure looking. The class ended and I was currently walking beside Melissa who talked about her ongoing affair that I had no interest in. The only thing that rung in my head was the reason for my existence here. Who could possibly be behind all of this? There has to be some magical entity to turn back time. Or maybe... I am the one who's sent back in the past. I couldn't help but wonder what Zephyr's reaction was when he find out that I was dead. Regretful? Guilty? Sorry? Or maybe... happy? What if Nina took over my position as Luna? If that happened then I refuse to go back to the present. What if this really is an opportunity to remake my future? Maybe the goddess took some mercy on me and gave me a second chance because no other reason makes sense. So I decided to believe this reason. If this really was a second chance, I'll make this bastard beg for my love and take back each of his word that he stabbed into my heart that day. I will make him fall to his knees and apologize to— "Aurora Thompson!" I looked at Melissa whose nose was scrunched up, a habit of her when she was annoyed. She pointed her finger to my front and I followed the line of her pointer finger, only for my eyes to widen. Shivers ran down my spine but I remained neutral. No. I had to play cool this time. "What do you want?" Oops.
