Chapter 15: The Thrilling 1

611 Words
James happily greeted every subordinate, it seems that James is in a good mood today, it seems that he just went out to talk about business and made another gain. Seeing Peterson, James said, ‘’Peterson, how are you this afternoon? I just saw your email, you can operate normally.’ Peterson replied with a little hesitation, ‘Yes, I have finished the operation.’ ‘’Great, you've always been so efficient.‘’ James also complimented, even though Peterson knew that this was James' common trick, he felt comfortable. Everyone enjoyed compliments from others. James turned around and went into his office, looking at a few unimportant emails, including one from the Adiministration Department about reminding everyone to be environmentally friendly and to take care of switching off the lights in a timely manner, as well as one from the Research Team about the latest election developments. ‘They just like to make something and then can't wait for everyone to know and applaud.’ Just as James was casually browsing, ‘knock knock knock’ the door knocked. ‘COME IN, PLEASE’ James said showing a bit of irritation at having business now, he had planned to wait until he got off work in a little while and then go straight for a drink, tonight he was meeting a VP from another VC firm to go to an exclusive and expensive strip club in San Francisco, they both loved it there. In came Cathic with a piece of paper, she was an employee of another business group. ‘Cathic, what brings you here?’ James asked. ‘Nothing, it's just that a printout has appeared on top of our printer, the capital management scheme is managed by Lucas and I think the wrong printer was selected. I couldn't find him, so I thought I'd give it to you. ‘You know, the positions in the family's capital management plan are to be kept secret, this is something that if the disciplinary committee finds out about, you guys are going to have your salaries cut, yo’ Cathic said with a smile. ‘Wow Cathic, it's so unfair to others that your beauty and good heart coexist. I'm always ready to buy you a drink’ James was a little puzzled but the expression on his face only lasted 0.1 seconds before he immediately smiled and flirted with Cathic. Cathic handed the printout to James, who took it and was very curious because it couldn't have been printed by Lucas, so who was it that cared so much about this asset management plan? Could it be a company director? Out of alarm, James asked IT department to check whose computer printed it, printers now have records. Within a minute, IT replied that it was Peterson's computer. At this time, Peterson has figured out why he can not find print materials in the department office, because their own departmental printers have been disconnected from the network, automatically adjust the print job to another machine. But when he went over to look for the material he couldn't find it again. He asked the colleague next to him, who replied that he had just printed a copy of the material himself, and there had been a mistake, and it had shredded, probably along with Peterson's document. Peterson didn't care much and went back to his seat to print out a new copy, intending to bypass Peterson and report the matter directly to Luis, the head of the company's Disciplinary Committee, who was also a director of the company. Just as Peterson was about to get up and walk to the director's office area, James called, ‘Peterson, please come here.’
