LOGAN POV
By the time I get out of the Guesthouse, I make it by what must have been minutes, I spread my stuff out in my car, seemingly one of the only places security isn’t ten-fold.
Attempting to work out my next move I begin to review my choices, yep, there are choices, just this time not many. With the additional security the couple of things I would usually do are not possible, resigning myself I decide to stay right where I was.
I know Lexi will help, now to plan how best to stay off dad’s radar, just another twenty-four hours until it wont matter, but he is so demanding.
Before I know it my mind drifts, bring up all the dirty thoughts I have had about the vixen over the last few hours. Chastising myself I shouldn’t think that way. I need to wait until my brothers get home. I need to tell them about how she makes me feel.
Mind-linking Lexi, I make the decision to introduce myself, to the vixen she-wolf, that is trying to hide out here at the moment is just too much work. I know I haven’t even spoken to her yet, but I can’t help my hostility toward her right now, she messed up my early return, my only chance to relax before father gets hold of me.
~~ Hey Lexi, I need your help, can you meet me in my temporary office, my car in the garage when you get a minute, please ~~
I wait, with oh, too much time to think, my mind now ablaze with thoughts of the she-wolf. I am drawn to her, I know going through her things wasn’t my best move, but I need to know more, I need to work out father's motives, what is so special about this she-wolf, she warranted further investigation by him?
Deep in thought I am slightly surprised when Lexi pops the passenger door and slips into the seat next to me. I look to her, then I nod adding “it’s time.” I say and she nods as she takes in my dishevelled appearance, “I think maybe you are right we should introduce the two of you.” Her words sending a cold chill down my spine, not entirely sure if I am completely ready for this.
Lexi opens the door, and we make our way inside, I bought some clothes to change into; after spending most of the night in my car. She is still asleep when we enter. Making my way into the guest room, I freshen up and change, this time into some sweats and a black T-shirt my runners back on my feet, I adjust the drawstring on the sweats as I walk out the door of the room, into the living room area which is part of the same room as the kitchen.
I’m halted in my tracks as the door to her room opens, almost the same time Lexi swings the door open meeting both my gaze and that of the she-wolf vixen. Her scent hitting me quickly. Lexi’s introductions done Morghan makes her way back into her room leaving Lex and I standing there watching her retreating form.
Needing a distraction, I look at Lexi, she continues to smirk, she makes me wonder, did she see what happened before when we shook hands? As a Lycan she will know, maybe that is why she has become more protective over Morghan.
Morghan makes her way back into the kitchen, seeking coffee first then sitting down to join us at the table laughing and chatting as we are.
“What’s dad got you doing this week?” I ask Lexi, her face is still, visually challenging me even me now, I frown back at her before she begins. “Well, I have the easy job, I get to hang with my new bestie,” she pauses, turning to me before she continues, “Yes that’s right you Master Logan Lordes, have been replaced!” Her gaze then shifting back to mine after she does a quick sweep of our surroundings. “So, I get your stepsister as my main job for the foreseeable future!” Her grin wide and mischievous.
“Sounds like you have the most difficult job of all, this one, this vixen is going to be trouble, I am sure of it.” I say to Lexi, her smirk wide, I look to Morghan, who continues to smirk, although her smirk makes a hasty retreat when she catches onto what I said, her eyes widening, they are surrounded by the long dark lashes, the look deep, luring and sexy.
I think to myself it doesn’t seem too hard to get a rise out of her, I wasn’t sure what to expect, I know she can be fiery, I heard her when she was having words with father and her other. I have no doubt as we get to know each other she will bite back as she needs to. Honestly, I was surprised when she didn’t bite.
My gaze is still fixed on Morghan, as Lexi laughs, her laugh bringing the attention back to her. “Then guess what?!” she blasts out. “What?” I question as Moghan watches the interaction between the two of us. As she begins to laugh quite creepily, I might add, “I’m going back to school! I’m going to study how to bring shifter babies into the world!” her laughter consuming her the moment she got the words out.
Looking up at Morghan, who is also smiling broadly now, then to Lexi, who is not looking anywhere near as thrilled by the situation. “I take it father decided for you?” I asked Lex, her interesting faces telling me how she feels about returning to school I guess, but worse to study something I know Lex will not cope with. I keep my knowledge to myself for now.
The two girls making their way across the room, I hear Morghan tell Lexi how much she appreciates her doing this, and there is my answer. She is doing this for Morghan, it seems they definitely have formed a good friendship.
“It was either me or you!” Lexi said. Confusion breaking out across my face, her laughter somehow pulling out the reality of the statement. “Me? What the Fuk?” I spit out, my reaction causing the two women in the room t o laugh harder.
It takes almost my entire coffee before they stop laughing, but when they do, all I can do is smirk and shake my head.
“Morghan, can I ask what makes you so angry at my father? I have heard some of your louder conversations.” Waiting for my answer I watch. “Umm, where do I start? Her words are sharp. “I don’t like the way he controls my mother, and like what is with her being so submissive. She is not like that! She is a strong she-wolf!” Her voice increasing in volume.
“Okay then, well I do appreciate what you are saying, but being a Lycan elicits certain things from our mates that may not make sense, it’s like wanting to please your mate.” I try to explain.
I realised my words obviously did not make things clearer when she followed up with, “So you are saying that if I was to find my mate, them be a Lycan I am going to be expected to submit to them? I WILL NOT SUBMIT!!”
