CHAPTER NINE It was hard to pull ourselves away from Mom and Dad, but we had to do it. If we came home too late, the rapacious Marsha would probably demand an arm and leg in addition to her regular salary. Crossing her was a bad idea when she had so much on us. We were pushing our luck just asking her to babysit tonight in the first place. Saying goodbye to my parents, and promising to get together again real soon, Frank and I got in our car sometime in the morning and started toward home.
