Father's Evil Plan?

***Kierans' POV***

I sat in dad's office for my alpha training. But all I could think about was dad's words to me "You don't need a broken Luna." So it is like he's insisting on me choosing a chosen mate instead of a fated mate. How could he? He was all for fated mates as my mother and him are fated. Be believed in having a stronger pack bond if you have your fated mate. He believed it was better to have your fated mate over a chosen mate. It is so odd to me that he is not willing to accept Reign as my mate once it is proven she's my goddess gifted mate. It is like he's hiding something. But what could it be? Because I'd rather leave my pack or step down if that means I can have my goddess gifted mate. But before I make any decisions I need to figure out what dad is hiding. Because I can only imagine what it is he's hiding isn't good nor beneficial to the pack. I can't bring it up to my mother or anyone until I have solid evidence.

I was lost in my thoughts about my father when he had dismissed me from my training. And I went looking for Reign, I had promised to take her shopping today. I knew my mother wanted to spend some time with her. But who can blame my mother? She finally got to meet her best friend's daughter after all these years that she's been missing. And it's only bringing her hope that she'll soon be able to find her best friend. I made it to the dining hall where my mother and Reign were having a snack and a cup of tea. I walked over smiling at them both. It made me honestly happy to see my mom happy that she can mentor Reign about her true heritage. "Hello Son." My mom greeted me with a bright smile. That smile I haven't seen in some years. "Hi Kieran." Reign smiled at me while giving me a hug. "I haven't interrupted anything have I?" I joked to them. "No you didn't Son, we were just finishing up." My mom replied "Well, are you ready to go shopping?" Reign happily replied yes and I showed her out the door and into my black Challenger.

I drove towards the mall with music while listening to Reign sing to every song she knew. It made me smile at her while I focused on the road. She was happy as ever like there wasn't a care in the world. I was still thinking about my dad and what's up with him while also trying to not show Reign I was worried. But as luck has it she was busy singing. We finally got to the mall and I opened the door for her, then shutting it behind her and locked the car up. "Where do you wanna go first my love?" I asked her watching her turn redder then an apple. "Hm, I'm not sure. Can we just walk around first and see where we go?" I nod while grabbing her hand to walk with her. Her touch is so gentle and soft. She's looking around going into stores like she's never been shopping in her life like a kid in a candy store. It's honestly quite cute. We hit a few stores for different things she wants and turns with her eyes wide and happy "I'm going to go to one more store, meet me at the food court?" She asks "Are you sure?" "Yes! I'll only be a few minutes. Promise." She beams up at me. "Sure love. I'll be over in the food court."

I begin to head towards the food court. Once there I find a table where Reign can easily spot me and sit down. I pull my phone out and get into my files my father sent to me during alpha training just to see if I can find any discrepancies in the files. My father can be a smart man but sometimes lacks hiding anything from anyone. They are usually small clues to hint what he has planned. Like one time when he was trying to buy my mother a birthday gift he left details about the necklace he was buying on his desk that my mother had found while she was searching for him. She didn't tell him, just acted as if she didn't know until he gave it to her. That's when she told him. So I was just hoping that I wouldn't have to go into the vault to do some searching. He didn't want me finding Reign, he didn't want me to bring Reign home and now he doesn't want me to be her fated mate. We have had countless arguments over this. No matter how hard I had tried to tell him Akay told me I needed to find her. I mean at first I didn't know why Akay wanted me to but now I do. And my Father had always wanted me to come home and be alpha. But it never made sense. And now I'm beginning to think there's another reason why he didn't want me to find Reign and why he doesn't want me to be her fated mate, and it's not just because "she's broken" there's more to it and I'm going to find out. And once I do find out depending what it is he will pay for his crimes if there is any. But for now I'll keep my cool and stay on the down low about what my plans are. I need the proof first. I will start with the files my father sent me and I'll go from there. I find the oldest file first and begin to scan through it. Scanning each and every file I have from my father. Looking for any clue that would stand out that doesn't make sense about the file. There are about 100 files he sent me, dating back to the early 2000s when my father took over the pack from my grandpa. Luck doesn't seem to be on my side today because nothing stands out. All the files are about pack members, upper ranked members, when the alphas took over and just everything on our pack. I'll head to the vault tonight when Father is asleep or after alpha training tomorrow.
