Things Are Looking Up

***Kierans POV***

Things don't make sense right now. This man raised her. And then basically abused her after her mom died. What made him turn on her? I know humans are weird and don't make sense but what the hell? To go from happy and loving, to hate and spite? I guess that's why the Moon Goddess favors us. We're to loyal and caring compared to the rest. I can hear Akay chuckling in my head. I grin.

I break from my thoughts as the sun is peaking in. Reign is beginning to toss in her sleep and I just hold her. She continues tossing a little more before settling down. Must be a nightmare. I can only imagine what she's been through at that thought I frown. s**t! I forgot to let Angie know she's okay and safe now. I pull my phone out and send her a text, explaining a few things of what happened, but not going into much details and letting her know she's safe now. After I send it I put my phone away. I mindlink my mom asking if she can get Reign some clothes as she doesn't have any. "Sure thing son!" She replies all happily. My mom loves to go shopping. I know I promised Reign we'd go shopping but we can't do that when she has nothing to wear.

I didn't even think to grab some of her belongings before we left. But I was so angry at that man and just wanted to get her the pack hospital to make sure she was okay. It's why she arrived here wearing only the Tshirt I had on. I sigh just thinking about that, it really disgusts me someone would do that to anyone. Especially their kid, well a kid they helped raised. But what could make anyone turn on someone so innocent? When I first met her she seemed so sweet and kind, someone had obviously raised her right. At least before everything went downhill in her life.

Doc Allen finally came in "Seems like she needed more rest then any of us thought she needed. But she seems to be doing well. Once she wakes we can release her. And her wounds seem to have healed incredibly well Alpha." He smiled me, I sighed that's great! She can leave once she's up. "One more thing, I want her to take it easy for a couple of days." He continues before walking up to check the monitors and leaving.

I gently rubbed the side of her face smiling. At least now she can put her past behind her and start to feel some short of happiness from this all.

It was cute watching her walk through the pack house. We were walking in silence because I noticed her looking at everything in awe. Once we were up to our room you would have thought she was in a daze. She couldn't believe it. She was like a kid in a car day store. But I got to admit I was kind of sad when she thought she would be a burden to me to allow her to sleep in my room, well our room. But I was quite happy when she agreed. I showed her around and you could tell she hasn't seen a room this big with everything in it. It was super cute.

I could tell she was getting exhausted so I picked her up bridal style and carried her to the bed, laying her down in it before climbing in and cuddling her. "Are you my mate?" She asked me with sleep in her voice. I was kind of shocked, she shouldn't be able to tell if I'm her mate yet. "Akay says you are." I reply "Is Akay like Neoma?" "Yes he is. Did Neoma tell you I was your mate?" "Mhmm." Was all she could get out before falling back to sleep. I smiled and laid there before I heard my dad call for me from the mindlink. I groaned, this isn't going to be pleasant.

I slipped out of bed not wanting to get up. So I was here for her once she woke up. But I have to go. I haven't seen dad since I got here, so I know this won't be good. He sounded pissed too. I walk out the room closing the door as quietly as I could before heading to dad's office. I knock and head in. Dad and Daniel are in his office talking when I come in. "So, since I should have retired a year ago and you were out on some rescue mission for a damsel in distress you'll be starting your Alpha training tomorrow. You'll work double time so that in 2 months time you can take over. On the night of your Alpha ceremony we will also hold a mating ball for you with our allied packs so you can find your Luna." He says and before I even realize I let out a growl. My dad looks up with a raised eyebrow. "I already found my mate dad." I say my words coming out like I am spitting venom. "I had always said I felt like Reign was my mate, and last week Akay informed me that she was indeed my Goddess Gifted Mate."

Dad puts the papers down that he was looking at and gives me a stern look "She's not even 18 yet, so you can't be for sure. The mating ball will still happen regardless. You need a strong Luna Son, not some broken girl who was given in the human world by her parents that no one has seen for years." He practically yells at me. My anger is boiling at this point and I walk out before saying things I would say but not mean. I get back to my room and take a hot shower.

I let the hot water run down me, helping me to wash the anger away. That way when I go back to Reign I'm not angry and she won't think I am angry with her.
