Abigail’s POV I stepped out of the cab and into the cool evening air as I arrived back at our apartment. My mind was spinning with thoughts of Elijah. He had done so much for me, sacrificed more than I could ever imagine, and yet, I felt I had given so little in return. I removed my coat, hanging it by the door, and glanced around. The apartment was quiet, he wasn’t home yet. That was good. It meant I had time to do something special, something to show him just how much I appreciated him. Walking into the kitchen, I opened the fridge and immediately frowned. It was practically empty just a few eggs, some milk, and a bottle of orange juice.
