Elijah’s POV A cab pulled over at my apartment building, and I stumbled out, my steps unsteady. The cold night air hit me, but it did little to clear the fog in my head. I had told myself it would just be one drink, but as usual, Ashton’s idea of one drink had turned into a lot more. That’s what I get for hanging out with Ashton, the playboy. I staggered toward the door, where the doorman stood, his hand already on the handle, ready to open it for me. As I got closer, I could see the concern etched on his face. “Sir, are you alright?” he asked, his voice laced with genuine worry.
