Riding in the carriage with the Alpha Prince at the reins, I arrive at the mines to discover my worst fear realized: Killian is one of the ones trapped when a ceiling collapsed.
The Alpha Prince charges into the fray of the mine to assist, which terrifies me, although I understand his need to be of service. I can do little more than offer water to the workers who periodically emerge to rest for a bit while others, refreshed, take their place. I pace alongside the other she-wolves, wring my hands, and whenever gruesome thoughts of the worst possible outcome hover at the back of my mind, I fervently squash them.
Killian has traveled the world, has no doubt been in far more dangerous situations and emerged unscathed. He will survive this.
