I woke up to the rhythmic beeping of a heart monitor and the sterile scent of antiseptic filling my lungs. A hospital. Again. I groaned, my body protesting as I shifted slightly. My head throbbed, a dull, persistent ache radiating from my forehead. I reached up instinctively, my fingers brushing against a bandage. Great. "You’re awake." Cole’s voice.
