At first she thought that she could not find the right herbs in the Dower House garden and would have to go up to Queen’s Hoo to where in the past her mother had always grown them.
Fortunately, however, she found just a few tucked away in a comer where she had not noticed them at first.
After she had cut them up and put together all the ingredients her mother had insisted upon, it was growing quite late in the afternoon.
