The call came, I knew it would come, I had been waiting for it even in my sleep.   Sweat broke through my forehead from all the tossing and turning I had been doing, asleep but awake, dreaming of the call over and over again and each time it set me in much fear.   My eyes peeled open, so nervous and so scared it had it hard to even think.   It was dark, early in the morning, peaceful sleep having evaded me.   My hand shook, holding the phone, its light brought on my eyes. It was him, there was no one else and the longer it rang the more he would be pissed off.   The screen was swiped, picking up the call. I decided to take out my Airpods from their case and connect them.   Silence was all that was there, in my ears as I closed my eyes to open them.   “I am sorr…”   H
