She tried to isolate the source. She closed her eyes and waited for the voice to come back. She listened so closely that when it returned, she wasn’t sure that it was a voice anymore. Maybe it was just random sounds. She remained like this for some time, perhaps the rest of the day, she wasn’t sure. The voice was her only companion and she wanted to know more about it. The whole time, there were feelings that she might know the voice. It had to come from somewhere, and probably somewhere Assa knew about. Before the day was out, she had decided the voice was her own body talking to her. What else could it be?
