Behind her, Assa felt her parents huffing and puffing along the trail. She wanted them gone, now. She didn’t need them here anymore. They would just get in the way of her killing. Assa waded into the remnants of her home and began swinging the club around her in a great circle. There were only a few dragons left. Now that most of the house had been carried away, there was no reason for them to remain. Those that did were able to dodge the club with ease. They lifted themselves into the air and screeched at Assa and spit long flames. Assa felt the heat of their breaths on her skin. The smelled burnt hair.
