RAINA'S POV
For days, I tried to get to Declan but I just couldn't. He was purposely ignoring and avoiding me, the guards would never let me in whenever he returned to his room. On the third day, I was so frustrated by this that I tried to go past the guards regardless.
“Look, you don't understand, just give me a minute with him and that's all,” I said to them in a rasp, desperate tone, “It's very urgent, just a minute!”
The guards shook their heads, “The king doesn't want to see you, lady Raina.” They repeated. “You're causing a nuisance, please leave. The King doesn't like a commotion, especially in his wing.”
An idea dropped into my head after I heard those words. I looked at the guards without moving, their cold, gaunt gazes were fixed on me the entire time.
