Our hearts sink as we hear the footsteps closing in. We tried to run, but it was too late.
A group of shadowy figures emerged from the darkness, surrounding us with snarls and growls.
Gerald, Irvin, and Liam stood their ground, ready to defend I, but we were vastly outnumbered.
The attackers move in, their movements swift and calculated.
I tried to summon Hailey's energy, but it was too late. I was grabbed from behind, a hand clamped over my mouth to silence me. I struggled and kicked, but the guards were too strong.
The last thing I saw was Gerald's desperate attempt to reach me, his eyes filled with fear and anger, before everything went black.
