Most people from the crew had no idea what Kuiper’s Belt even was. They were all educated in a very narrow areas, to create designed specialists in needed areas. The general education didn’t include cosmology, and there was not even one astrophysician among them. Only the pilots knew what was there in the solar system and around it. Even Willner started to study astronomy once on the deck, and he gained some knowledge from the books collected on earth. His freshly absorbed knowledge allowed him to answer the multitude of questions from the crew now.
